No!!!! That is not true.
My husband and I used to live on a farm, there we had our own apple trees, and we used to harvest them,
When we did, I would make homemade apple sauce, then we enjoy some hat and can the rest for later use.
When you make homemade apple sauce, it is thick and very chunky, and yes I can be eaten with a fork, but you can use a fork if you want but it is not really necessary.
Here is the recipe for homemade apple sauce....
1) 10 apples cord and peeled and cut up into chunks.
2) 1/2 water.
3) 1/2 cup sugar, you can use white or brown depending on your taste.
4) 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon.
Cook this all in a fry pan until apples are nice and soft and start to dissolve.
This apple sauce is great hot or cold.
Hope this helps.
