I've never heard of cheesecake made with sour cream. All my recipes for cheesecake have Cream Cheese(like Philladelphia) found where butter is in supermarket.

I don't like sour cream either so I've made all my cheesecakes using cream cheese instead. Here's the recipe I use:

Kraftfoods.com has a multitude of variations on cheesecake so hopefully that helps you.

Eagle brand condensed milk website has my favorite recipe for a baked cheescake that is my personal favoite. It also includes instructions on how to make it a New York style cheesecake omitting the sour cream and adding more eggs.

There are great recipes without sour cream.
Sour cream is usually used as the top layer of the cheese cake...
Bon Appetit magazine (and thier online site) have great recipes for cheesecake.
