FRESH CORN ON THE COB (MICROWAVE)
http://www.cooks.com/rec/view/0,1850,158185-243196,00.html
Cook fresh corn on the cob in microwave with husks and silk intact. They will cook in their own natural moisture.
Place on paper towel. Turn ears over and rearrange after 1/2 cooking time.
Cooking Timetable:
1 ear - 1 1/2 minutes
2 ears - 3 to 4 minutes
3 ears - 5 to 6 minutes
4 ears - 7 to 8 minutes
6 ears - 8 to 9 minutes.
When ears are hot to the touch, remove and wrap in kitchen towel or foil.
Let stand at least 5 minutes. Remove husks and silk (which is easier than when cold) and serve.

If the corn is still in its husk (the leaves corn cobs come wrapped in when they're picked), You can put the cob straight into the microwave. Cook it on high for 5 to 6 minutes, then let it stand for a minute before you unwrap that juicy goodness. If it has no husk then wrap it in some damp paper towels before you cook it.

Introduction
Mmmm... corn on the cob, the essence of summer. But corn's also great cut off the cob and sautéed. Make sure you buy your corn unhusked for optimum freshness.
Instructions
Difficulty: Easy
Steps
1
Step One
Husk the corn and remove the silk.
2
Step Two
Boil corn on the cob for 5 minutes in briskly boiling salted water.
3
Step Three
Alternatively, cut corn off the cob using a sharp knife. Cut deep enough that you get almost the whole kernel, but not so deep that you get any of the pocket the kernel grows in. You will probably get some corn scattered over your kitchen, but persevere.
4
Step Four
Use the back of your knife to scrape the cob, and cook the scrapings, too; they're tasty.
5
Step Five
Sauté fresh cut corn in butter over medium heat for 3 to 4 minutes, or until tender.
6
Step Six
Grill corn by removing the silk, but not the husk; soak the husked cobs in water for an hour, then grill for 30 to 40 minutes, turning occasionally.
7
Step Seven
Try corn with lime juice and salt, or with butter mixed with red chili powder.
Tips & Warnings
* Some people add a teaspoon of sugar to the boiling water to sweeten the corn.
* Corn husks and silks make good additions to a compost pile or to a vegetable stock.

You know..you can actually nuke it! Someone showed me this, and it really does work! (although I still prefer to do mine in a pot or on the grill). Don't husk it or anything - just pop right in the microwave for a few minutes. The husk gets steam going inside and steams the corn. The steam also loosens the silks, so when it's ready, just peel the husks and silks off and enjoy with butter or however you like it! You do kinda have to play with the time - it depends on how big the ears are and how strong your microwave is!

Place the corn in a shallow pan with approx. 1/4 inch water in the bottom of the pan.
Microwave on medium to high for approx. 1.5 to 2 minutes.
Rotate corn and repeat.
Times are approx. as time depends on the amount and size of the corn.
I think I'll try the recipe above mine!

I husk and clean the corn, don't shake off the water, wrap each ear individually in wax paper, twist the ends, put three ears at a time in the microwave and cook on high 5 - 6 minutes. Unwrap, stick corn holders in each end. slather with butter, salt and pepper and Viola! instant yum.

Wrap corn in wax paper and twist ends (like a Tootsie Roll) and microwave it for 2 minutes per ear- comes out really crisp.

Sounds like a recipe for disaster. Put the corn on the barbie or put it on the stove top and boil it.
