We mainly live on ramen noodles, rice, potatoes, frozen vegetables, macaroni and cheese, fish sticks, fries, hamburger helper, chicken nuggets, pot pies, spaghetti, and occassional grilled pork, and broccoli cheese soup. Can anyone recommend anything else that I can prepare (I have very little experience in the kitchen) that is really cheap to make??

If you do, would you tell me what the ingredients are to the Ginger Bread recipe toward the back of the magazine. I looked online, but the March recipes aren't there yet, left the issue at home and I'm at my sister's and really wanted to make it.

When I make chocolate truffles, the inside ganache always turns out perfectly, but the outer chocolate coating gets dry & turns almost white when left out for only an hour or so. How do I prevent this from happening?

I've made several now (vanilla, chocolate, lemon, orange, raspberry) without ever using a water bath. I know the obvious purpose of one is to control cooking temp (212 deg max) and to provide moisture that would otherwise bake out. I've noticed most receipes don't call for it but I see a few that do. Mostly with "volitile" add-ins like custards, peanut butter, etc. etc. Is it really a preference or is it required with those ? Note first statement, haven't used one yet and everything's come out excellent. Seems like a big hassle if not needed...

I ALWAYS watch Cooking Shows every Saturdays on KLCS Channel 58 and KCET Channel 28. I often hear the Italian Cooks use Radicchio for Salads and other recipes. But it looks like Purple/Red Cabbage to me. What's the difference between Radicchio and Purple/Red Cabbage ? Is it just a fancier name for Purple/Red Cabbage or is Radicchio and Purple/Red Cabbage actually totally different vegetables ?? I'm just bored and curious so I thought I'd ask.

I had a recipe, I think it was flourless, that needed a springform pan. It was chocolate, it puffed up and once it cooled it caved in. You would then fill the crater with whipped topping. Any one know of this recipe, I would love to have it back.

A local restraunt serves a wonderful soup they call Portuguese Green Soup but when I search online for a recipe for it, all I find are soups that end up creamy. This soup is a clear soup with greenish color. It has leeks, brussel sprouts and other bits of stuff in it. It has some tiny meat balls and has croutons floating on top. I looked at Greek Wedding Soup recipes but that's not it either. Any other ideas anyone can give me would be appreciated.
