I'm cooking for a guy I've been seeing tomorrow night, but have no idea what to cook!! Can anybody suggest some recipes which aren't too time consuming (up to 45 mins MAX preferably as I work long shifts) and aren't too expensive or too complicated? I'm a fairly confident cook but don't want to try anything too over-the-top! Thank you very much!!

I want to make my own home made chips - however I find that when I simply cut up potatoes and put them in the frier they don't taste nothing like the ones in the chip shops. Does anyone know a good method for producing tasty home made chips??

I know if you make a casserole you can add all your ingred. together and it will bake correctly. But I'm not sure of the water/pasta ratio. I once heard it is equal, if you want to cook 1 cup pasta you add 1 cup water. I don't know if that's true or not though.

*I'M NOT LOOKING FOR A RECIPE, SO PLEASE DON'T GIVE ANY*

I just want to know the ratio to use when I want to use uncooked pasta to bake in a dish. Thanks in advance!

Making chicken stew in my new slowcooker. What sidedish goes well with stew since it already has meat and veggies in it. I doubt pasta will go with it. How about some white rice? I didn't stack up much on groceries so my options are white rice or rice-a-roni. I have ten different flavors for rice-a-roni, so which do you prefer?

I was making food (in the microwave of course) and the food I was cooking burned up into flames. Then the microwave went on fire, exploded, and burned half of the kitchen. I have no idea what to do and no idea what happened. I always cook the same type of food in the microwave so I have no idea what happened. All I was doing was cooking soup at the same time as always for 3 min. And put it in the same container as I always do. Can someone tell me what went wrong and tell me what to do because my mom will be irate (that means mad). Plaese HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
