You can cut this recipe if you to:
Chili Sauce
Ingredients:
2 1/2 quarts tomatoes, chopped (about 8 pounds)
2 cups onions, chopped
2 cups green peppers, chopped
1 1/4 cups sugar
1 tablespoon cinnamon, ground
1 tablespoon allspice
1 tablespoon cloves
1 tablespoon salt
1 1/2 cups white vinegar
This will take a large kettle and you should use one that is fairly heavy so that the heat will be evenly conducted throughout with no hot spots.
Tomatoes have a terrible tendency to "catch" and burn and if that happens, your entire batch can be spoiled.
In the kettle combine all of the ingredients.
Bring to a boil over high heat and then immediately reduce the heat to low and simmer until the sauce is thick enough for your taste. This will take from 1 to 3 hours depending on how much juice the tomatoes contained.
Stir regularly and often while the sauce is cooking.
When the sauce is thick enough, pour the hot chili sauce into prepared bottles and process in a boiling water bath canner.
Chili sauce should be processed for 15 minutes.

I make this one when I'm in a hurry and it's not bad. I use:
2lbs ground beef (80%-20%)
3Large Cans Contadina Crushed Tomatoes
1 small can Tomato Paste
1 Chopped Onion (large)
4 Cloves Garlic Chopped Fine
Salt
Pepper
Chili Powder ( good amount)
Worcestershire Sauce (Few Dashes)
2 Cans Red Kidney Beans
I brown my ground beef-remove from pot. Add onions and sweat to translucent-add garlic and stir -let cook about one minute (don't burn the garlic) add my ground beef back in, add all the rest of ingredients- let simmer for about an hour or so. You may have to add some water if it gets too thick.
I serve it with corn bread and UMMMMMMMM so good!
PS: I use Contadina because of the consistancy and flavor. You could use whatever you have on hand but I like the chunky tomatoes in mine! I like the flavor in this one without the heat. It gets a little heat from the chili powder but if you want more heat, add chili flakes also!

This was my grandmas recipe and the best I've found yet.
2 cans of tomato sauce
1 small can of tomato paste
(put in skillet and brown w/ 1/2 tsp of sugar.) *this takes the bitter taste out of the tomatos*
Spice to your like with garlic powder onion powder oregano, and a touch of pepper.
Simmer and add ~swansons~ beef broth until it is the thickness you want it. then cook on low for about 45 minutes.
From here if you want to make chili add 1 can of rinsed pinto beans 1 can of rinsed kidney beans 1 can of rinsed chili beans and 1 can of any other kind of bean you like and 1 lb. of browned and spiced hambuger. Let it cook for about an hour mmmm. it's the best.
