I was making food (in the microwave of course) and the food I was cooking burned up into flames. Then the microwave went on fire, exploded, and burned half of the kitchen. I have no idea what to do and no idea what happened. I always cook the same type of food in the microwave so I have no idea what happened. All I was doing was cooking soup at the same time as always for 3 min. And put it in the same container as I always do. Can someone tell me what went wrong and tell me what to do because my mom will be irate (that means mad). Plaese HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

WAs Mufasa at your house or Chris Wray because that would be very suspicous. Or maybe you acidently put metal in the microwave. Did you make up this story Ashley W? Very clueless or really smart might be the question. GOOD LUCK with your mom.

I'd support the previous answers and just add the suggestion that if by any chance you happen to have any of the soup left over (e.g. you used only half a can) don't throw it away. There'll probably be a claim on your household insurance and if there was something strange crept into it then it's possible that the claims investigator would be interested in it.

Your microwave may have been old which might cause it to explode. I'm not really sure. Or maybe you had a spoon in your soup, but I don't think it would've caught on fire.

If the container you had put it in is microwave safe then my only guess would be you had a circuit explode. There is nothing you can do but clean up, and explain to your mother. Be honest with her.

maybe there was a non-microwavable item (i.e. a small teaspoon) in the oven or ur container by mistake...
