Making chicken stew in my new slowcooker. What sidedish goes well with stew since it already has meat and veggies in it. I doubt pasta will go with it. How about some white rice? I didn't stack up much on groceries so my options are white rice or rice-a-roni. I have ten different flavors for rice-a-roni, so which do you prefer?

I would use a plain rice, or make a green salad

If you have to have rice a roni, use the chicken flavor.
Chicken stew is usually best served with a good bread and maybe some fruit.

I think that white rice would go real well with Chicken Stew! If you had ingredients to make a salad I think that would go reallly well too! If your only options are rice or rice-a-ronie then I would totally go with white rice!

Fix a salad and serve the stew over white rice. NOTE: Cook the rice in chicken stock for an enhanced flavor. 1.5 cups of stock for each cup of rice in an automatic rice cooker.

I think the rice goes perfectly with it. I sometimes used to put stew on top of white rice for a filler. Its good.
I think if you do rice-a-roni it will be too many flavors in one dish.

Yes, white rice would be perfect (since I don't know what flavors of Rice-a-Roni you have). And serve a light green salad on the side. Perfect meal.

I often serve stew with bread or rolls and salad. Sometimes I also serve it over biscuits or noodles...you could use your white rice that way. Just put a layer of rice on your plate and spoon the stew over it. Hope this helps.

I would choose white rice. It's perfect for the stew and if you want to make it even better, i would suggest fried rice.

How about some corn bread? I have never eaten rice with stew..Sounds like a plan for Dinner...
