We are hosting a superbowl party, and never have before.... I was thinking about making bbq smokies, and getting summer sausage with crakers and cheese as part of the food... Other than beer, we are willing to spend around 30-40 dollars on stuff, and we don't want to have to cook anything.. (other than heating up)... Ideas please.... Thanks!!!

I subscribe to EF, and have kept all of the issues for the past 18 mos. I use small post-its to flag which recipes I want to try, but I need to find a different way to organize this! I can't flip through all of my issues every day when I'm trying to plan dinner. Any suggestions? I'd prefer not to rip recipes out & throw away the rest of the issue. Thanks!

My 3yr old loves noodles and pasta. Trouble is that one of her favourites are chicken super noodles - the ones you put in a pan with hot water and add the little sachet to. As much as she loves these, I don't like her to have them too often because they are not particularly healthy (I've never let her try a pot noodle because she'd probably want one every day). Does anyone know how I can recreate that chicken noodle taste but by using my own ingredients?

I am baking a dessert and I would like to substitute butter for shortening in the recipe. What is the substitution ratio from shortening to butter? The recipe calls for 1/2 c. of shortening.

When boiling food, how come there seems to be more steam when you turn the heat down to a simmer than when it is in full boil? Is it because the boiling liquid is too busy cycling in the pot to be able to break away and when the heat is lowered the heated water can follow its nature and the excessive heat is allowed to rise, take water droplets with it and thus steam billows out?

Just wondering about the physics of it all. I shall now go scrape the overcooked food from the bottom of the waterless pot...

The Wilton recipe is so heavy. I do not like a whipped cream icing so please do not suggest that. We love the icing a Publix. So much that we have bought their icing to decorate a cake but they charge almost as much for the icing as for a complete cake?!

I'm going to be making shrimp with a sweet white wine sauce and I'm not sure what kind of wine to serve with it. Should I use the same wine that's in the wine sauce or should I use something different?
