Anyone know of a store, preferably close to the Westside, where one can get cooking ingredients like veal, beef, and duck stocks and demiglaces? I'm too lazy to make these. Thanks.

It never fails that when I make biscuits from scratch that they taste horrible and are hard as rocks. I've tried various different recipes, but none work out. I just really really really want to be able to make genuine homemade biscuits without breaking out the bisquick. What am I doing wrong?

i'm just curious how long, like how many minutes it takes to actually preheat the oven. i hate when cooking directions say preheat and i have no clue how long that takes.

I'm looking for a good chocolate chip cookie recipe that is going to give me delicious moist, chewy cookies. I love to bake but have never attempted to bake chocolate chip cookies before. From what i'm told they're not complicated or difficult to bake. I would appreciate a few recipes to try out, that way i will be able to compare and decide on a preference. Thanks.

I was watching Emeril and he was using eggs as part of a sauce, so he dropped the hard eggs in hot water for about 30 sec. He said this kills the bacteria. Then he cracked it open and mixed it into the sauce. Is this safe?

In the movie "The Four Seasons", I remember them cooking some oriental food, and they used some noodle like stuff that expanded almost instantly when they put it in the pan. Can someone please tell me what it was?
