Sounds delish can I come over for dinner? Grilled cheese sandwiches made with a hearty bread would be perfect.

I always make homemade bread to go with veggie soup. A grilled cheese sandwich would work well. I always like to dip, so I prefer that to salad when eating at home.

I would say that if you serve your soup for lunch you would want something light so that would be the salad. If it was being served for Dinner/ Supper, then the sandwich would be appropriate, because you are probably at home for the night and being active is no longer a consideration.

Sandwich of course! Must be a US thing because I think the idea of a salad with soup is WRONG. You could try our tasty scottish delicacy of cheese savoury in your sandwich which is cheese mixed with coleslaw. This goes well with a bit of tomato in too if you want to get your veggies in.

On a cold day the cheese sandwhich would be good with the soup. I like to slice my cheese sandwiches in 4-6 thin slices so I can dip it in the soup. yummy!

Since you have veggies in your soup, I think I would go with a cheese sandwich. Sounds really good to me!

Soup and sandwich always sounds sooooo good to me. So I would go that way. I like salads, but soup and a sandwich just go better together.

Vegetable soup is a particular form of salad.

Campbell's used to borrow from an old song "Love and Marriage) to market the idea that any of their soups, along with a sandwich, was a meal. Well, I'd add a piece of fruit at the end, and yes, it's a meal.

A grilled cheese sandwich, a bowl of tomato soup and a weak cup of tea is a perfect lunch.

Can't go wrong with soup and salad, maybe a slice of toast on the side.
