I have Caphalon and love it. Distributes heat very well, easy clean up... oh, and not too heavy. I caught the set on sale at Tuesday Morning. A friend has Cuisinart and is really pleased. The big daddy of them all is All Clad.... way out of my league price wise.

I am a Pampered Chef consultant, therefore a little biased! :-) Caphalon is a great product and usually a great price. However, since I do sell PC, I must say that I absolutely LOVE our cookware. It is more than $200 if you buy it as a guest, but people who host shows with more than $300 in sales qualify for a "Host Half-Priced" Item. The Pampered Chef 12 piece Executive set (with a Lifetime Warranty) is available for $285. I would suggest contacting your local PC consultant (or feel free to drop me a line if you don't know one ... ARepman@houston.rr.com) Good Luck!

I have a Kitchen Aid 14 piece set that is normally close to $350, I picked it up at Overstock.com for 1/2 that. Granted, it's 'last years color', but I didn't care. The only thing I don't like about the set, it's got metal lids, not glass, so I have to lift the lid to check on things, letting out the heat.

Buy a good stainless steel set with the copper bottom at Sears or Kohl's. Kitchen Aid and Cuisinart is good and so is Calphalon. All-clad is good too but VERY expensive.

There is a Calphalon line that is sold at Kohls- I got my complete set for under $200 and it's non-stick and came with a bonus stir-fry. It is a very good brand.
