For an extremely sophisticated hors d'oeuvre, stuff fresh dates (pitted, of course) with whole blanched almonds, then wrap each date with a strip of bacon and spear with a toothpick. Place them on a cookie sheet and bake in a hot oven, making sure not to burn the bacon, for about 20-30 minutes. It may sound a little strange, but the combination of the ultra sweet dripping hot date with the crunchy nut, topped off with the salty fat of the bacon makes a very decadent treat. It's extremely easy and very showy.
Otherwise, other quick ideas would be to place the bacon in a quiche (on the bottom of a pie crust, top with egg and milk whipped up with shredded swiss cheese). When I cooked at a pub-restaurant, a very popular dish was a baked chicken breast, then topped with a slab of bacon and shredded cheddar cheese, which you place under the broiler for a minute or so...really spices up your chicken dinner. Hmmm, also, you could cook the bacon and use it as topping for salads or additions to sandwiches. Cooked bacon will last a good while in the fridge, too.
Enjoy!

Well I guess if you're going to poison it with the bacon this won't be bad .I love it.Buy a pack of your favorite hotdogs or weiners whatever they are called where you're from.I buy chicken weiners it helps with some of the guilt (lol).Start by making a small slit longways about half way down inside and place some cheese like cheddar or motzerella or whatever you prefer and then wrap one slice of bacon aroung the weiner and put in a hot oven of350 and cook and remove before the cheese starts to burn usually 12 to 15 minutes drain the grease and enjoy .I'm from N.C.and that's what we here call a poor redneck suppermeat.Oh I forgot to mention you can put a tooth pick in the end of the bacon if it don't want to lay right.Bon-appetit

Take some hot dogs, slice them lengthwise (not all the way thru), put some chopped onions, and small bits of longhorn colby or other cheese in the slit. Wrap the hot dog in the bacon close together, so that the cheese and onions can't easily fall out. Secure the bacon with some toothpicks. Put the hotdogs upside down on a grilling rack and put under broiler until done on one side, then flip with tongs and broil on the other side until done. Take out toothpicks and serve on a bun or bread.

My fave pasta recipe:
1 package bacon, chopped
1 large can diced tomatoes
1 large onion, diced
4-5 cloves of garlic, diced finely
Crushed red pepper flakes
Olive oil
In a saucepan, heat just a small amount of olive oil. Add the bacon and cook until almost done. Add onions and garlic and cook until onions are translucent and garlic is lightly brown. Add can of tomatoes (not drained) and red pepper flakes (to your taste). Simmer for 10-15 minutes, covered.
Serve over rigatoni pasta.

Cream Cheese Bacon Appetizers
One bag white bread
8 oz cream cheese (room temp)
Chives
Garlic powder
1 lb bacon
Wooden toothpicks
Mix Cream Cheese, garlic powder and chives to taste (enough to add color)
Trim crust off of bread
Spread mixture on trimmed bread to 1/4" of edge
Wrap bread corner to corner and wrap one slice bacon around and secure with toothpick
Bake at 350 for at least 20 minutes or until golden brown
You can freeze them and bake them later as well.

Bring a large pot of lightly salted water to a boil. Add macaroni and cook for 8 to 10 minutes or until al dente; drain.
While macaroni is boiling, fry or broil bacon and place on paper towelling to drain. Cut into bite size pieces.
Melt margarine in a large saucepan over medium low heat. Stir in flour, then tomatoes and wait for sauce to thicken, stirring occasionally. When thickness is to your liking, stir in cheese until it has melted. Stir in cooked macaroni and bacon and heat through. Serve hot.
