I'm going to be making shrimp with a sweet white wine sauce and I'm not sure what kind of wine to serve with it. Should I use the same wine that's in the wine sauce or should I use something different?

Pinot Grigio
It will contrast the sweet wine that you use. Pinot is great with seafood.

Chenin Blanc
You don't see it too often but I think it is the best white wine out there. The sweet of the shrimp will be highlighted with the acid in the wine.

A sweet sauce? Hmm, that is different and unusual (for shrimp) but it seems to be the wine to be matched with it should still be a dry white or a bone dry rose.

The other way around. Use the same wine in the sauce that you're going to drink.

you most likely will get the best results if you use a wine that is more acidic. A good Chardonnay, or Pinot Grigio, Sauvignon Blanc, Blanc de Blanc, or the such might be good. Are you using a Marsala?
