I am going to have between 5 and 8 people for Christmas, and I am going to do a ham. I figured out at Thanksgiving that 24 pounds of turkey was a bit much for 5 people, so I need a little advice for Christmas.

I need to dip truffles in melted Baker's squares, but how do I melt them? Can I just put them in a pan or do I need to melt butter with them? That sort of thing. Thanks.

My boyfriend is taking me to see his friends for the first time ... and the event it a video-game competition at one of his friend's house. There will be about 10-15 guys there and usually his friend's wife is cooking for them. I want to bring something nice and delicious, but don't want to steal the wife's thunder by any mean. I just want to make a good impression as well in front of my boyfriend's friends. This will be the first time I'm meeting them ... so any help people? What should I bring? ... dessert? main dish? or just snacks?

I need some new ideas for a family party in January. I am so sick of the same thing, ham, hot roast beef, meatballs, potato salad, macaroni salad, pasta salad, hot pork sandwiches. Does anyone have a different ideas? The party is in a hall for 80 people. I need new suggestions. I organize the menu and then everyone chooses what they will bring from the menu. I don't want it extravigant but I am tired of the same old thing. HELP!

You know, those little bottles of sprinkles and other frosting toppers that they sell in the baking section of the grocery store. Does anyone know if these "keep"?

I need a recipe for cookies, that I've never made before. I tried one last month, when another memeber of the club I belong to made them. They were were like sugar cookies in color, but never brown when baked in the oven, they never flatten during the baking, if enough flour is used, and they're round. Warm, right out of the oven, they taste like delicous butter biscuits.I'm told they're Russian. I could search for the recipe on my own, if someone could please tell me, the name of these cookies. Thanks!
