I ate plantains while on vacation and could not really understand the waiter when he was telling me how to make them. All I could understand was make sure the plantain skin was dark in color so it was sweet and fry. There was also a dipping sauce that was made with ketchup/mayo or something. Any ideas?

I want to get a cookbook published. I tried submitting a cookbook of crock pot recipes but got turned down by 10 publishers. One of them told me that kind of cookbook is to common and to come up with a cookbook that normally you wouldn't find in book store. So I'm asking everyone what kind of cookbook you don't really see in stores but would buy if you saw it?

I'll be competing in the 17th annual 'RH Price Wing-off Invitational' next month. I need a winning recipe that stands out from the rest. I'll be in the 'original' catagory so nothing too hot or similar to buffalo style. Thanks for any suggestions. (nothing from allrecipes please!)

I like them not all the way done. But not too long after they get really hard? Any one know why and how to prevent that?

Everytime I make brownies, I follow the directions, and I test to make sure it is cooked by sticking a fork or tooth pick in it, and waiting until it does not stick to it. But I usually get worried that it will come out a bit raw and we'll get sick from eating it. So I wait a few extra minutes.

Then when I cut it up, the center of the brownie it ok, but not as moist as I would like. And the edges are horribly dry and nobody wants them! :o( I'm almost sure that it's because I'm keeping it in the oven too long.

Some one give me some brownie advice! How can I make sure that it is fully baked and moist throughout the entire pan? I want my brownies to be as soft and yummy as the ones you buy from stores!

or summer pizza:
That sounds like summer pizza to me. Not only broccoli was on it but you can put all kinds of veggies on it..It's real easy to make. Take the crescent roll dough lay it out flat cook as instructed. When cooled put ranch dressing on it with veggies and sprinkle with cheddar cheese. Cut into two bite squares and enjoy!

I looked in a regular cookbook on Sunday night because I thought I would make my girlfriend a nice dinner.

Even the most simple recipes seemed to have like 50 ingredients (some of which I have never heard of).

Are there any easy cookbooks that guys can use?
