To open a home cooked cannery(jar) of Tomatoes from 1994? YES! 1994.

We had a family member that die suddenly in summer about 2 years ago and she was a old lady that have a garden so she can CANS her food for later cooking or getting ready for winter. Always made too much...lol..
Anyway, after cleaning out her home me and my mom have some of her jars. I didn't thinks they were be THAT old but that whats the date on the jar say.
My mom want to cook it with hamburgers and a can of store brought tomatoes paste and make pasta and meatsauce.
I REFUSE to eat it if she makes it and she just laugh because I'm being a scary cat. Mom said its o.k. to eat it as long its cook.
So People I'm asking for your answers and used it as proof that I'm not a scary cat.. lol..
Good luck. :-)

It's impossible to fry without all the water being discharged into the frying pan, meeting the oil and splattering all over the cooker. Seems more like poaching rather than frying? Does anyone know the answer to this or do I have to wait until the water evaporates then fry for a little while. Does anyone make good bacon without added water now?

I want to know if there is really a difference between saute pans and regular non-stick pans. I noticed in some of my receipe books that it says use a saute pan however people are telling me that there is no difference between the saute pan and the non-stick pans I already have. What do you think?

Hello again, I just received answers to my cake pan question and I thank each and every one of you that responded, but now
I have a follow up. The pan in question is a thin aluminum, brioche looking pan with very deep flutes. Are there any particular instructions for baking in such a thin pan? Will my cakes brown consistantly? Speaking of which, I do have a heavier bundt pan with a painted finish that only browns on one half.......what causes this? Thanks again in advance and have a great day!
