not sure about millies, but try these.
sugar cookies
1 cup butter, unsalted
1 cup white sugar
2 eggs, lightly beaten
1 teaspoon vanilla
3 cups flour
2 teaspoons baking powder
1 teaspoon salt
In a bowl, cream the butter and sugar. Beat in the eggs and vanilla.
In a second bowl, combine and mix well the flour, baking powder, and salt. Stir flour into butter mixture 1 cup at a time. Chill dough for 3 to 4 hours.
Roll out dough and cut into shapes with cookie cutters or a knife. Brush with milk and sprinkle with colored sugar. Bake on a sheet pan or a parchment lined sheet pan in a preheated 350 degree F oven for 10 to 15 minutes depending on the size of the cookie. Remove cookies to a rack to cool completely.

I don't know Millie's cookies. But for better than packaged go to the store and buy a bag of Nestle tolhouse chocolate chips the recipie on there is straight forward, and qiute good. Try a cup of brown sugar and 3/4's a cup of white sugar. Why buy the bag of chips? that way you have the recipe on plastic. Attach it to a backing (so it doesn't curl) and you have a hand held long lasting recipe.

For simple PB cookies you need 2 cups white sugar 4 teaspoons cocoa 1/2 cup milk 1 stick butter 2 tablespoons peanut butter 1 teaspoon vanilla 3 3/4 cup quick oats 1 cup coconut. Essentially just mix them all together properly and bake for 45 mins at 185 degrees C
