I just bought a 13 lb brisket but when I cut off the fat it should be around 12 lbs. I also have a 20 Qt. rival roaster oven. Can I cook it in there? and how long?? Thanks it's my first brisket!

I am preparing two boneless, skinless chicken breast for tonight's dinner. However, I do not want a pale, poached-looking piece of meat. I intend to do a quick, high heat browning in a skillet before wrapping them in parchment. Has anyone done this before? My concern is that the chicken may dry out a bit through the browning process and defeat the purpose of parchment baking. I will be baking the breasts at about 425 f. for 10 to 12 minutes and they will be covered lightly (in the parchemnt) with a reduction of white wine, shallots and chicken stock used from the deglazing of the skillet.

My waffle maker broke and I wanted to get a new one for my mom for Christmas. I saw that with this one you can make 2 at one time, which is very convenient. My whole family likes waffles with deep pockets. Is this a good one to buy or are there better ones?

We have a family function coming up with about 30 people (adults and children) and we were asked to bring an appetizer or a dip. Any good suggestions. Something that's maybe kid friendly.

We've got a potluck at work next week and I want to bring in a side dish, but I wanna bring in something good, but easy. I was thinking of either vienna sausages or chicken wings. If I bring either of those in, I want to cook them in my crock pot. Does anyone have any good recipes or other good ideas? Thanks.

We have a good basis so far.. I don't see her too often, however.
I am thinking tickets to some place.. but where? A concert?
And another idea I have is to get an empty necklace, jewelry case, and tell her that I have a gift for her, and when i'm standing in front of her, open it, and then kiss her. So it's like the kiss was the gift... any thoughts?

On the back of a pancake/waffle mix, in the pancake section it is just oil, milk/water, etc. But on the Waffle recipe it calls for an egg? Why? So when you fry them on a griddle, you aren't supposed to use an egg? Eggs are only for when using a waffle iron machine? Well I just say screw it and use an egg when I make pancakes on a griddle... what is your take on this?

Many many years ago, for dessert at school lunchtime, we used to get chocolate pudding with either white sauce or a minty flavoured one. For quite a while I have been trying to find some( or make some). I can get brandy flavoured around Christmas time, but don't want this. I know you can get white sauce for Lasagna and fish, savoury of course. PLEASE could you help me out on this one.. Many thanks ...

Are there any places to take recreational cooking classes in Sacramento? I want something 1 or 2 days a week, for fun. I want something that starts somewhat basic (but not so basic as how to chop an onion) and lasts for a few weeks.

At the Learning Exchange there are some interesting classes, but they are all only 1 night classes (and aren't until january).

Also, community college classes don't start until the end of january, and I am trying to find something hopefully I can start in the next couple weeks rather than 2 months (I want a winter hobby while I wait for the sun to come out again).

Any ideas or leads would be appreciated, thanks.
