My waffle maker broke and I wanted to get a new one for my mom for Christmas. I saw that with this one you can make 2 at one time, which is very convenient. My whole family likes waffles with deep pockets. Is this a good one to buy or are there better ones?

I don't really know how to evaluate a waffle maker other than to taste the waffles. I think this one looks good because it makes 2 at a time. What else should I be looking for?

KitchenAid makes many dependable appliances. The thing you might look at is whether the plates that actually cook the batter can be removed for cleaning. There are also some multipurpose irons available that do more than make waffles. Check those out for other options. A good iron also has an ready/done indicator light and overflow channels around the edges to catch batter overflow.
