I put my eggs in a pot of cool water, i add 2 Tbs of vinegar and turn on the heat, i let the water boil , but not rapidly ( as this may cause the eggs to crack) once the water boils for 2 minutes. i turn off the heat. cover the pot and let it sit for 12 minutes. i then drain the water, add ice cubes and let the eggs chill. Once the eggs are cool, i roll them on the counter under the palm of my hand and the shell comes right off. The cooling is very important. also if you end up with greenish yolks that just means that they were boiled too long ( or so my grandmother told me)

I put the eggs in a pan full of cold water.
I bring the water to a boil.
I boil them for 2 minutes, then let them sit in the water for another 5.
(I hate hardboiled eggs. I just do this at easter time.)

Place the eggs in a pan with room temp water. After the water begins to boil - continue to boil for 10 minutes. Perfect every time. Be sure to poke a small hole in one end of the egg with a needle or thumb tack before boiling to allow gases to escape and prevent discoloration of the yoke.

first off 3 minutes boiling is usually soft boiling so 2 minutes boiling would still be raw. this week i just made 3 batches of deviled eggs for different occasions I let the eggs boil over ten minutes. & they were great. you want start with tap water hot water will crack them & also don't use aluminum pots, does something to the eggs & after boiling, go ahead & put in cold water to cool before peeling them

Put the egg in cold water and when it start to boil start timing it for 12 minutes for a hard boiled. I boil mine for 15 minutes. Starting in cold water will keep the eggs from cracking.

Bring water to a boil w/ tsp of salt (to avoid cracks). Boil egg for 10 min for hard, 6-7 for soft.
I'll try the vinegar next time I've never heard of that one.
I've also heard that room temp eggs don't crack too.

I put the eggs in cold water, bring to a boil, boil for 15 minutes, drain, shake the pan, cover with cold water and peel.
You can skip the shaking part if you want to keep them in the shell.

Put the egg in a pot of cold water to cover. Bring to a boil. Once water has boiled, remove pot from stove, cover, and let sit for approximately 18 minutes.
