I am refering to the appliance that has two semicircular compartments. It has a hinged lid and is kind of shaped like a Foreman grill. The infomercial features an older, plump redhead who used to play on a soap opera. Anyway, does this comercial seem sexual?

ok, I am the one with the cornbread problem (Mobile, AL to Weatherford, TX). I have a brand new elec oven (the builder installed it, I would have never done that); Last week, my old recipe with Martha White cornmeal and Martha White flour did not work here, so this week, I used different cornmeal and flour, but used the same recipe. It still didn't do right.

Last week:
I used 1 cp milk (not water); 2 eggs, 1/3 cp sugar, 1/4 melted Crisco shortening, 1.5 cps MW cornmeal, 1 cup MW flour; preheated oven, baked at 450 deg., 18 minutes.

This week, I used the same recipe (however, added 2 tsp baking powder) with different cornmeal and flour, still didn't come out right! I am out of Martha White cornmeal and flour and can't find it here (yikes).

What do I need to do to adjust my recipe (hopefully, I can find MW somewhere) to make the cornbread rise like it used to?

I am making cupcakes gor my daughters kindergarden class for tomorrow. The recipe says that they are best if served the same day. Is it okay to make the batter the night before and keep it refrigerated overnight. Does it make a difference? This way I don't have to wake up so early! Thanks for any help.

I've moved from lower AL to north TX. My cornbread recipe isn't working here. What can I add to make my cornbread rise (like cake) as it did in Alabama? I don't know if it's because I now have electric oven (how I miss my gas oven) or is this an altitude problem.

I am babysitting 3 very picky children one day this weekend and I am in need of a child friendly meal for dinner that does not contain any of the following items...

ground beef
pork chops
saurkraut
tomatoes (or tomato sauce)
green beans
chicken legs (but will eat chicken breast)
cottage cheese
macaroni and cheese
hot dogs
nuts (of any type)
leafy greens
mozzerella cheese
mushrooms
zucchini
squash
eggplant
eggs
and they dislike those easy boxed dinners and store bought bread.

any help is highly appreciated!

I'm looking for yeast bread recipes that bake in a regular oven. Made the traditional way. Dried fruit recipes welcome as well as eggless ones.
Thanks.
