I bought frozen flounder fillets at a grocery store to cook for dinner at home. I usually defrost them about one day in advance and then I pan fry them in a bit of vegetable oil. However, my fillets are ALWAYS breaking apart on me during cooking. I can't even flip the fillets over without them crumbling into bits.

Perhaps there is too much water left in the fillets after defrosting them? If so, what is an effective way to dry these fillets so that they will cook thoroughly without breaking apart? If that's not the problem, can you suggest a good cut of (frozen) fish to use for pan-frying?

Thanks for your help.

Hi.. i'm from a little country called Romania, so my native language is not english. I have a question about a part of a cooking stove. Please help. It's the upper part, that looks like a big straight metal sheet, and it's usually found in fast food restaurants, or any kind of restaurants really, and you can cook straight on it, like fry eggs or pancakes directly on the metal, and grill meat on it, but also use it to heat other pots and pans... I need to know what that is called (not the name of the company that makes it, just how people usually call it). Thank you so much!!

I love biscuits and gravy for breakfast, and my biscuits are good but for some reason my country gravy always either turns out too thick, or too runny. Does anybody have an easy recipe for country gravy?

Although these recipes do sound good to me...the ingredients are mostly fresh spices and produce that I do not normally buy for they do not have long 'shelf life'...and not something my two teen sons will use in their personal easy cooking...I don't like paying the extra for fresh to only toss half because it spoiled...being in the country does not allow my ability to drive to the store daily for ingredients and I find that very time consuming for a full time worker and single mom....any suggestions?

Do you put the cinnamon on first or the sugar? Do you need to put margarine on the toast before you put it under the grill?

I have tried various methods and can't seem to get it right. I either burn it or end up eating toast with sugar granules and powdered cinamon on top!
