I love chicken, noodles and veggie soup and it is sooo easy to make! I usually cut up my chicken in to bite size pieces and then put it in to the boiling water and chicken broth (half of each). I put in the carrots and veggies first, let them cook for a few minutes while cutting up the chicken. Put the chicken in and then the noodles maybe two to five minutes later. It'll all be done in about 10 more minutes. So, to answer your question, the chicken, when cut up, usually takes about 15 minutes to cook through (just keep an eye on it and you will be able to tell by cutting one open). Oh! I usually add some herbs like basil alone or sometimes with garlic and onion powder, and whatever else, depending on what I feel like. Yum!

Yes just boil them in lightly salted water for several hours until the meat falls apart. Then you can add your favorite veggies and and spices and herbs to finish it off. A suggestion here is that it is better to make this soup using chicken with bone in and skin on and just take out the bones and skin after the meat falls off. You will also have more chicken fat this way too which makes for a heartier soup.Boneless chicken breasts usually do not have skin left on which minimizes chicken fat in the soup which is what chicken soup is all about.

Actually it only takes about 20 minutes for boneless chicken breasts to get done. I would cut them up in rather small bite size chunks and put them in a soup pot add chopped celery, chopped onion, salt, pepper, a little celery salt several carrots chopped or grated. cover with water (about 6 quarts) and simmer. when the celery and carrots are nice and tender I then add a bag of noodles generally what I have on hand. Wide egg noodles, bow ties, fine egg noodles etc. If you would like a much heartier soup, make some noodles of your own by putting about 3 cups of flour in a lg bowl and make a well in the center of the flour and add 2 eggs. Mix flour into the eggs with a fork until they begin to get crumbly, then add enough water to make a nice stretchy dough. Add salt to taste. Roll out like pie crust (kinda thin) then cut in 2" squares. Add squares to the boiling soup stock and cook for about 20 min to a half an hour or until their tender. These will thicken the broth and make a really tasty soup. Good luck!!

If you are making stock from scratch you MUST boil the entire chicken, bones and all, to make the stock! I'm not quite sure what the ones who are telling you not to think they know but go on any recipes site and you'll get the same answers. A lot of the flavoring for the stock comes from the bones. Boil it in a covered pot. The meat will come right off the bones in a matter of a couple of hours. Add whatever seasonings you like and also some carrots and celery. You'll have to strain the stock before actually making your soup.

You can cut it up in smaller chunks or you can put them in whole. Once they start cooking in the soup and become tender, it will fall apart anyway. You can simmer the soup for as long as you like. It doesn't take long for boneless chicken breast to cook. You'll know theyr'e done when the chicken breast is all white and the meat is a firm texture.

I would not use the breast for soup. But if you must, then boil your chicken with a chopped onion, chopped celery and chopped carrot pieces. Salt and pepper. When the carrot is cooked thru, then I take the chicken out and shred it apart or cut it if you want, and add it back into the soup. I like to add egg noodles at this time, then simmer for 5 minutes, with lid on. Then it's ready to eat!

Depends on the size of the breasts. Cook till no longer pink inside. Chicken breasts won't make a very good stock for soup. You will have to add ready made chicken broth. For exellent chicken stock you need the whole chicken bones and skin you also need to cook with the chicken celery, carrots and onion to make the broth taste yummy. Good luck!

I would cut mine up first into bite size pieces. You are going to do that anyway when you eat it. =) It will make it easier to cook. It will probably take between 20-30 minutes to fully cook...remember to keep an eye though on the water to make sure it doesn't run over. =) Another hint is to buy those pre-cooked chicken breasts and just stick a few in the microwave, then cut those up and stick them in your soup when you have that made. Much easier. =) (I do this whenever I want to have chicken pasta lol)

Yes, it's called poaching. Then take them out after about 14 minutes, cool them while the rest of the soup is cooking, dice them and add the chunks back in!

It's also a good thing to do with those huge chicken packs you get at the store. Just poach them, dice them, freeze them in little containers, and whenever a recipe calls for cubed cut-up chicken, dump one in!
