I add powdered cloves to the ground beef when I brown it. 1/4-1/2 teaspoon. This gives the chili a extremely rich taste. Smells yummy when it cooks too.

Williams Chili Mix!
MY DAD’S FABULOUS CHILI
Easy, & scrumptious chili.)
3 lb. ground chuck
1 lg. pkg. William’s Chili Mix
3 cans Bush’s Chili Beans
1 lg. onion, diced
2 cans tomatoes, diced
salt & pepper, to taste
Brown meat & onion in skillet, & drain the grease. Add chili mix (your choice of styles—Cajun is especially good if you like spicy), stir well, & let simmer 2 or 3 minutes. In large pot heat chili beans, tomatoes, salt & pepper, & about 2 cans of water. Add meat mixture to pot, stir, cover & cook over medium heat for about 15 to 30 minutes, stirring occasionally.
(My variation: a can of RO*TEL may be added for more spiciness.)

Believe it or not, I add one teaspoon of nutmeg! Gives it a really interesting zippy flavour that no one (until now lol) has been able to identify in my chili, but EVERYONE loves it!
