I really want to try baking bread & rolls, but the yeast and warm water part scares me. I have an instant read (meat) thermometer- do I use that? or do I need a candy thermometer? Any good beginner recipes?

What do you usually put on white rice? I am serving it with Alaskan Pollock fish, and all I have is plain white rice. Usually I put brocolli and cheese, but I don't want to use that with fish. What would you use to season white rice, when you are cooking it with fish?

Someone asked me to make a cake for the guests, I have 3 boxes of angel food cake mix, i would like to use it up.
I was just wondering if it is going to get ruined if i cut it into 3 layers and put whipped cream or pudding on it... Will it become too moist, lose the shape? Has anyone tried it?

I recently had a hamburger with a sourdough hamburger bun, and just loved it. I do not have the time to make and bake these myself, so I am looking for a place to buy these buns in a store.
