Basil, garlic, olive oil, pine nuts, salt and black pepper mostly. If I make it it just might have a bit of parmegiano cheese flavor too.
Mainly it tastes good; not only on pasta but on fish and chicken too. The Argentinians make a sort of pesto called chimichirri that they put on beef. It's tarragon based I think, but I bet traditional Italian Basil pesto would go well on beef too.

i'm taken aback that you've under no circumstances tasted this delectable additive both, yet such is life! i'm German and performance in worry-free words had Sauerkraut some circumstances, yet have cooked it in thousands! Pesto is variety of a oily basil with Parmesan cheese and a back flavor of nuttiness, that's mild in weight, yet can upload a lot flavor even in a small volume. authentic Pesto is composed of unpolluted Basil, Olive Oil, Garlic, Salt and Black Pepper, toasted Pine Nuts and Parmesan Cheese. Originated in Genoa, Italy, this mortar and pestle pounded sauce has taken on various tastes and twists in recent times, with extra seasonings and flavors extra to it, even if the unique continues to be a fave in a lot of eating places and properties! attempt it............i imagine you'll quite like it!

Haha, pesto is a sauce that's used alot in pasta dishes.
It's made with mainly basil and pine nuts among other ingrdients.
It's very nice in taste and has a distinct flavour. If you haven't tried it you should!

The most prominent flavor is basil. There are other ingredients but unless you've tasted them before it's difficult to describe.
