I have this great recipie for "40 clove garlic chicken) that I make with a whole chicken in a crock pot. The chicken comes out super tender and falls off the bone. Has anyone ever tried this with a whole turkey? I'm wondering if I can do it for thanksgiving.

you can put 2-3 pounds in the crockpot and serve 6 with it. Maybe you can roast a traditional turkey and this.

I hope you are going to give us the 40 clove garlic chicken recipe.
I've done a turkey breast in the crock pot many times and it turns out nice....never used 40 cloves of garlic though.

I have done a Turkey Breast in the crock pot and it is wonderful. All I did was to that the Turkey Breast, Place in crock pot and add enough Chicken Broth to cover. Cook 8 to 10 hours on low.
Very, Very good.

I would do it the only difference is that you have to plan the timing because you're going to need a lot more than just a chicken..
Oh and does the turkey fit the crock pot...

Go for it! You might consider the size of turkey you get to fit in the crock pot.

Yes, it will work. I did turkey legs in the crockpot and they turned out great. My question is, where will you get a crockpot large enough for a whole turkey??

If you have a giant crock pot I don't see why not. It would have to be a whopper of a crock pot though.
