On television programs, such as "EastEnders", occasionally the charactor will eat a typical British meal. I've been able to figure out what "Bangers and Mash" is, but what about "Beans on Toast". Obviously, it is beans and toast, but what kind of beans? white, pink, or what? Is the cooking liquid drained off or served with the beans? Is there a flavored sauce? Is anything else cooked with the beans? IE: Onion, Grated Carrot, Leeks? (Leeks aren't that popular with Americans). Any help will be greatly apperciated.

Ok, i was trying a new recipe, but I apparently misread the garlic ingredient. I put two chopped cloves instead of one, and now this HUGE pot unbearably has too strong of a garlic taste. What can I do to diffuse it? It took me all day to make this chili and I refuse to just throw it out.

Also, please give me any suggestions for a "special touch" ingredient. Aside from the chili burning my nose hairs and lungs with garlic, I stil feel like i am missing a special touch of something. Do you use anything unusual?

I'm thinking of starting a side business on some land I own. I was thinking about growing organic or specialty type foods there, for sale to gourmet restaurants. I'm looking for suggestions or ideas of what might be good. Things I was thinking of are herbs like basil, rosemary, etc. Possibly greens such as Romaine lettuce or escarole or things like that. Everything grown there would be done so organically.

I am also considering the possibility of making specialty cheeses or raising small livestock, such as chickens, turkeys, ducks, etc.

The climate is temperate year round and is located within 1 hour of a city of 7 million people, so access to a suitable market is readily available.

Thanks for the suggestions.

This is one my mom used to make for me. You take sliced carrots, cook them in olive oil and then ad brown sugar? It is really good and I was wondering if anyone else has tried it.

According to Reader's Digest, I can:

a. sprinkle the inside of the whole fish with salt, pepper and lemon juice, then place on a greased grill and brown carefully on both sides. Baste with melted butter and white wine.

b. sprinkle inside with same mixture as above and then place in a special hinged grill. Baste with a soya sauce basting mix or lemon juice, oil and tarragon. Flip sides after browning on each.

c. Baste with oil mixed with lemon juice, sugar and white wine and salt and pepper on the inside. Wrap carefully in greased aluminum foil, two layers, and place over the coals to cook.

I also thought of the rotisserie but it seems impractical and I'm afraid I may burn it or dry it out. What do you recommend?

I have had a set for years, but recently dropped and broke two pieces. Cannot find anymore cookware of this type on-line or in Wal-Mart, Target, etc. Why is it no longer on the market?

How long does divinity stay fresh? I am entering a contest on Saturday and want to make it earlier if possible. Is it like fudge and taste better the next day or does it need to be made sameday?

I use red potatoes and cook them for what I consider only a short time, yet the potato pieces invariably turn out soft, not firm as they should be. What am I doing wrong?
