You should marinate for about 30 mins. the longer you marinate the stronger the flavor will be. I would leave it more than an hr. Keep refridgerated.

If you marinate fish for longer than 30 minutes the meaty part will start to beak down and the fish will be mushy when cooked. I would suggest that you keep the fish in the fridge not longer than 24 hours but do not marinate it until 20 - 30 minutes before cooking.

I would not recommend very long because the marinade will break down the flesh and it will become too mushy too cook correctly. No more than a day is my recommendation.

Fish is a very delicate food.... too many bacterias can form if you don't cook it up asap... I would suggest to marinade it about 1 hr tops........ then cook it
