Does or has anyone here gone to culinary school? I'm thinking about applying to the The Art Institute of California - Orange County next year, I want to study Culinary Arts and later study Baking & Pastry. I was wondering how long it takes, what it's like, cost, etc. Thanks for any help at all!

I would like ones that I can mix the ingredients ahead of time and freeze them, then later just put them in the pot and go.

I started soaking some chickpeas in preparation to cook them, but for the last few days I haven't had time. Now they've been in the water for three days, and I noticed that the water is really yellow. Something must be diffusing out of the beans and into the water... I wonder if it's the amino acids. Am I going to miss out on all the protein power of these chickpeas because I've over-soaked them? If not, what IS coming out of these beans?

Don't have a steamer. Don't like doing a lot of work. Have 2 bags of kale (courtesy of local farmers market which needed someone to take what was left at end of the day). What do I do? Back in the spinach days, I used to sautee spinach with garlic and pine nuts. Would the same work with kale? Any other ideas? Thanks

Has anyone worked at Golden Wok or know how they make their Egg Flower (egg drop) soup? From what I can tell it has chicken stock, eggs, mushrooms, and sliced green onions...but Im sure there is something else. I found a ton of receipes online, so I dont really need general receipes, but if someone knows specifically about the Golden Wok soup recipe or has a recipe that closley matches, please let me know..thanks!

Ok, i only like plain new york style cheesecake, no glazes or sauces, just the graham cracker crust and a really soft filling that is just amazing,, yet I have little to no skill in the kitchen.. Any thoughts? should I just get a generic recipe or do y'all have just a great recipe that would blow my socks off?

Wondering about what kind of cheese to use for homemade mac-n-cheese. Usually I use Velveeta bacause I know it will melt well, but what else works good, what melts the best? And is there some secret to getting "real" cheese to melt without ''clumping"? (Not sure that's the right word, but hopefully you know what I mean!)
