CHEESY HASHBROWNS

1 bag frozen hashbrowns (not the shredded kind)
1 jar of Cheeze Whiz
1 can cream of chicken soup
1 16 oz container sour cream
2 tbsp melted butter
crushed cornflakes
minced onion, optional

Preheat oven to 350.
In a bowl, mix together the Cheeze Whiz, soup, and sour cream till smooth. Place hashbrowns in glass 9x13 baking dish that has been sprayed with cooking spray.

Pour the cheese mixture over hashbrowns. Melt the 2 tbsp butter and mix with some crushed cornflakes.

Put cornflakes over the top of the cheese mixture and bake, covered, for 45 min. Uncover and bake an additonal 15-20 min, or until bubbling and golden brown.

Is there a kind of hard candy that's very hard and strong. I have a project coming up, and I'm thinking that hardened sugar (like they do in vegas) will be crushed under it's own weight. Is peanut brittle any stronger? Is there any other food that is very strong in thin sheets (about 1cm)?

What cookbook do you look up recipes in for your basic dinner? None of the fancy stuff that you only bother to make for company or holidays. I keep buying cookbooks that seem decent but then when I look up something simple like meatloaf or something it'll have ingredients added that don't normally go into it. Or a ton of recipes that you have to spend $20 on ingredients for.

I'm using a teflon coated pot to cook rice. I put 2 cups of water per 1 cup of rice. I get the water boiling and then drop the stove down to med. I add cream of mushroom for flavor and then cover. The rice on the bottom begins to burn about 12 minutes in every time. I have no idea how to correct this. Less water and lower temp?
