What are some good songs for my wedding ceremony for either a guy/girl duet, or just the girl to sing during the unity candle lighting? It will be in a protestant church. Traditional songs or some newer pop songs are ok, as long as they are appropriate. Not really a boy band fan. Country is ok too, but I'm already very familiar with Shania Twain songs so are there any less known country songs? Thanks for your suggestions!

My fiance and I have said "to hell" with all of the extravagance and decided to elope instead. On 11-14 we will go down to the county courthouse...my question is this...

What is the ceremony like? Is it the traditional vows of love, honor, cherish, obey, etc. OR is it like in the movies where he'll say "do you take this man, do you take this woman? I now pronounce you man and wife?". Thanks guys!

I have heard the saying "the first year is the hardest"...well, our first year was a walk in the park....I was just curious to see who else had an easy first year...does it get even better? I can't imagine it being hard to be with the man I love...what was your experiences?

I was recently invited to a wedding, and I'm not sure if I'm allowed to bring a date or not. Usually the envelope would be addresseed to myself plus guest, but it just had my name on it. I was confused whether or not to bring my bf, so I called my friend who's a bridesmaid. Hers also just had her name on it. How do you know what to do if it doesn't say on the envelope or the rsvp card? Thanks!

I would like to know how far in advance I should order my wedding favors. I am inviting 175 people, with the expectation that some people won't be able to come, so I'm hoping to have between 150 and 160 people. I thought that I should maybe order 150 of them now, just to know I have them, and then if we end up having 10-15 more people RSVP, I would just have to rush order that 10 or 15 favors. Is this a good idea or should I just wait?

My sister's boss and her long-term girlfriend are getting married this Saturday. My sister is really struggling to come up with a few nice, well-chosen lines to write in the greetings card. Please could you good people on Yahoo! answers help her and suggest something that will make them smile on the day when they read it? Thanking you in anticipation. :-)

I was supposed to get married this year, But a new arrival has set us back. Now the family wants to know when we are getting married. If we get married this year it will be a small wedding due to fiancial difficulties. If we wait it may be a better wedding. Not really sure what to do?

My fiance and I have been engaged almost a year. We want so desperately to get married but seeing as how we both work full time and go to school in the evenings, neither one of us has much money left over after all of the bills (student loans, helping family with $). Nor do we have much time to plan one.

I've thought about just going to city hall but I'm afraid one day I will look back and be sad I didn't have a pretty wedding and the pictures to go along with it. I dont need anything extravagent - I know a marriage is not defined by the ceremony or reception. I just want a special day with him.

Does anyone have any tips or suggestions on how to have a low-cost wedding that I will always remember?

After being told, by her lawyer, that she couldn’t use a video she found of myself and my girlfriend to bring any legal charges against me, my girlfriends mother called her and yell hurtful things at her (most of which my girlfriend actually found to be quite funny).

Among other things, her Mom apparently yelled “well, now when you find the right guy (I love the implication here), you won’t be able to have a white wedding!” After her mom said this, my girlfriend told her that she wasn’t able to have a white wedding long before she met me and hung up the phone shortly thereafter.

While, if we ever actually get hitched, she’s going to wear whatever color dress she pleases (it’s her day after all), we both enjoy discussing absurd intellectual points and began discussing what color a woman would actually wear if she couldn’t wear white.

hello. A "close" friend of mine did not invite me to his wedding. That I found hurtful, but what was worse was that he didn't tell me anything about it. I thought it was pretty rude. When we discussed it, he basically told me to get over it, and didn't give me an explanation as to why he didn't at least tell me why he wouldn't invite me. I told him I wouldn't do that to him, and didn't expect it to be done to me. We have since both moved on, and wished each other the best.
Please keep in mind this was a "close" friend. I have seen him more over the last 5 years than any other close friend. If would be nice to hear other's opinions on this or similar experiences. Thanks-

I think I know all the paper work I need and maybe his.. Still not to sure. If you know please let me know. I would love to know how to find a islamic church or priest abdoul (whatever it is called. not to sure on that yet) to marry us. I want to try to set this up ahead of time. We are going to marry in casablanca. After we are married. How do I get my new husband back to the states with me? Is there anyway he can come right away? If anyone know the answers to any of these questions please inform me. Thanks for all the help you give me.. May God be with us all.

Can someone please tell me what roles and responsibilities the MOH is supposed to have, like certain things she typically would organise when it comes to my wedding?
I have asked my 17 year old sister to be my Cheif Bridesmaid/ MOH and I am happy that I did as she is my only sister. The only thing is that she has not asked about anything I would like her to do and does not show much interest in the wedding. Maybe she will as it gets closer but sometimes I think she only said yes because it's a special role. I don't know what I should get her to do anyway but if she asks it would be nice to have her do something so she feels she has helped. My mum is helping me heaps and I think sometimes my sister might be a bit jealous. It's just I think being MOH is a special thing so it would be nice if she showed just a little bit of enthusiam. I don't know if I want to say N E thing as it may make things uncomfortable between us. Please help?

I am 16 and I have a boyfriend that is 24. Why do poeple say things like he's pedophile, or he has other girls or he wants to get in my pants? If you knew that he came to my life to make me happy. The truth is I have lupus and I'm a little worried that I might not live for so long so I want to get married young (18 years old) and go to college. But when I asked for opinions people think my boyfriend is a bad person. He's really there for me, taking care of me, giving me strength, he loves me, he's the best! And my parents accept our relationship cause they know that he is a good man.

Look at this questions.

i don't like her family. She has a son-who is so annoying, and about my age. Even tho she is my godmother i don't talk to her anymore so i didn't send her an invatation. I purposely didn't send her one and told my mom i didn't have any left. My mom told her she could come. Even tho i don't want her to come especially her annoying kids. What you you do? Am i being mean and selfish? Did you have any one at your wedding you didn't want coming and your parents/brother/sister/etc. told them they could come??

We are planning a very small wedding with less than 35 guests. Only family and about 10 close friends. My fiance is inviting a friend who has a girlfriend and will have a baby with her by the time of our wedding.
The girlfriend went to the same high school we all went to but we only knew her name and weren't friends with her. We have never met her formally or spent time with them together- do we need to include her in the invitation our wedding is very small and on a tight budget?
