It can be OK if you have a more casual wedding, such as on the beach or in a park. But if you're getting married in a church and you have a formal dress and a dinner reception, then you really should avoid the flip flops.
If you're afraid of being taller than your man, try wearing one of those "ballet slipper" type shoes. They are SUPER comfortable, cute, formal, trendy.
Or there are a lot of cute flats you can wear. Look for a strappy sandal (no heel) in white or silver.
If you still decide to wear flip flops, you can wear a "fancy" pair or decorate your own with glitter glue, sequins, lace, and/or ribbon.
ps, Whatever you decide, make sure you're wearing them when you have your dress fittings so your dress isn't dragging on the floor.

Good heavens. You can't be serious. You're going to get all dressed up in the fanciest, most expensive dress you'll ever wear and show it off with flip-flops?! Are you crazy? Flip flops are appropriate for the beach, the pool and communal shower areas. Period. Why would you ruin the look of the day when there are so many cute flat-shoe options out there?

it's your wedding wear whatever you want to. I'm changing into flip flops for the reception. Rather be comfortable then uncomfortable and taller than your man. IF not flip flops why not a cute flat. It's really up to you it's not like people will see your shoes unless you show them.

At the wedding, NO but at the reception, go for it! At the wedding, you will be going to light your unity candle, and if there are any stairs, or if you plan on kneeling to pray, you will show your feet. Everyone at my sisterinlaws wedding thought it looked tacky when she was going down the stairs and she wasnt wearing any shoes at all. Also my friend wore white flip flops, and she said that she would have been more comfortable in regular flats because the flip flops were more bulky and they got caught on her dress a lot. Just somethings to think about. Ultimately, it is your day and what you want rules. :)

I think it is a wonderful idea ( I am doing the same thing ) If you want to dress them up a bit add beads, sequins, crystal's that match your dress. If you look around you might be able to find Flip flops already with these items. Best wishes and good luck on your special day.

My sister in law wore white flip flops under her dress. I think you should do whatever you want. It is your wedding day hopefully your one and only. If you wear flip flops it may be easier on your feet too. I would wear flip flops if I was you.

It depends on the dress. If it is a modern simple style you could wear beaded silver or white flip flops, but if it is a more formal style dress flat closed in shoes would be better. (ballet slippers)

I'd rather go barefoot than go down the aisle to the sound of FLIP FLIP FLIP FLIP. There are lots of cute flats on the market with soles even thinner than flip-flops and you'd be able to dance in them much more easily... plus, they're silent.

I'll be in the same boat once we get to that point (we're very, very close...). I'll probably get ballet slippers or some comfy white flats. Flip flops just wouldn't be too comfy for me.. and it'd hurt if someone stepped on my toe...

You can wear flip flops under your dress if he can wear flip flops with his tux. Otherwise, just find a nice pair of white flats. You seriously don't want the congregation to hear you flip-flopping down the aisle, do you?
