My parents are divorced and I have no relationship with my dad and I have no other "male figures" in my life or family that would do it. Is is ok that I walk down the aisle by myself?

My fiancees grandfather is 93, and talks openly about how he is old and expects to die fairly soon.
We have begun to plan our wedding, and are saving to pay ourselves, however Gramp has offered us a little bit of money to help because he wants to be at the wedding, and is worried if we have to save too long he may pass away before the big day.
The earlier we get married, the less money we will have saved to have everything we dreamed of. But if we leave it longer, save more, it may be too late for Gramp.

Of course we want him there, but a wedding is a one-off and should be so special and everything we ever wanted.

Its a toughy, I hate to talk or think about his dying, but he is very realistic and only wants to see us settled down and happy, which I can fully understand.
Your opinions please?

I'm attending school to become a wedding planner but have some doubts... I've always wanted to become a wedding planner/party planer and make other people dreams come true... I'm just concerned if this career will take some time to build clients. I am a people person - wondering if anyone has advise on what to ask clients?

one small table has the bride and groom's baby photos along with candy for children at the reception. Another table has the bride and groom's dog's photo and baggies of dog treats to give away. Should there be a small sign saying 'baby faces', treats for your dog'? any ideas?
It's a luau themed reception.

How much can I personalize it? Can I have secular readings? We can have it without the Eucharist correct? Any information about Catholic ceremonies is helpful.

We are thinking of having only a ceremony.... is that rude? We don't expect any gifts, but we are going to be inviting some people who will have to travel a long ways. Are Receptions necessary?

I'm really struggling. I don't want to get them something for the wedding (like cheap tacky jewelery) as a gift, but I'm on a budget and can't afford most of the things that I'm like "ooohh they would really like that!" (i.e. coach mini wristlet). I like these, but not sure if it's a good thank you gift or not. What would you think if you got it?

I called my mom today to discuss my wedding. She lives in Mystic, CT I live in LA. She said she had picked out what she was wearing to my wedding and I'm like "Mom it's in June, don't worry, you don't need to chose just yet." But she insisted that she knew what she was going to wear and e-mailed me a picutre of her wearing an ALL WHITE dress, white tights, white shoes, a white top hat with a tiny white vail. Now my mom knows my wedding dress is all white. How can I tell her she can't wear all white because it's disrespectful to me!

it keeps going higher and higher.
what was your budget for your wedding?

me and my fiance are going to pay for this wedding. Our initial budget was $90,000. The venue, The Bellagio in Vegas, is charging us $25,000 for the ballroom itself. The main thing that blows up our budget is the guests (price per head for food and drink is $180). We initially had 350 guests but now the list is getting bigger and were at 500. the cost is now up to $115,000. I don't think i want to go much higher than that. im estimating its going to be somewhere from $115,000--$125,000. I just keep feeling its rude to invite some people and not others. I cant say no. What should we do to cut the guest list?? please help...

I'm getting married in a year and I've been planning and taking my time planning it and just enjoying the experience with my fiancie. Well my mom any time I make a desision she goes behind my back and change it. Like I wanted a dark blue/white theme, but she turned it into black/white. Every time she changes a singel thing it makes me mad at her to the point I can't stand to be around her any more... I know she just wants me to have a perfect wedding but we're paying for it and it's costing us money to keep changing it. She even called the catter and changed the menue, I just left that alone because I admitt what she picked out was better and less expensive. I'm tired of this, my fiancie is tired of breaking up arguements between us, and so am I. We didn't even argue this much back when I went through my "bad girl" faze!!! I'm tired of this!! When I was at the alter trying to pick a preist she through a fit when she didn't like the speach he gave and I hired him anyways. She tried to

I know I only want a small, simple ceremony, with close family & friends. My partner & I are paying for everything ourselves, so we don't want to be paying hundreds of dollars for meals etc, for people we never see!
Does this sound selfish?
I just don't want people to feel left out. Someone suggested I only invite close family & friends to the actual ceremony and then have perhaps a BBQ type reception and invite a lot more people. Would that work ??

One of my bridesmaids has been bugging me from trying to be my MOH to trying to pick out her dress, even though I hated the color to inviting her daughter into the wedding party. Finally I just yelled "YOUR OUT OF MY WEDDING!" because I was so angry. She smirked and said "You can't kick me out of the wedding party." and laughed. I said "I sure can." and she said "No you can't, because I already bought your wedding gift." I then shut up but got a bridesmaid to replace her (1 of the junior bridesmaids). I am allowed to do this right? I mean she acted like SHE was getting married.

My fiance and I are both musicians - cello & piano. At the moment, we are planning to create CDs of the two of us playing duets and solos of different types of music - classical (of course), soundtracks, music for older generations, original compositions that one or both of us wrote, and some new stuff (like our own arrangement of "The Scientist" by Coldplay). What do you think? We wanted to make something more personal and meaningful than a random mix CD with some of our favorite songs.

I bring a two printers and a person to operate the printer. I will print all the pictures I take on the wedding day and by midnight I can give all the guest and the wedding couple the pictures. (These will be proof pictures) The final wedding album will be delivered two weeks later. Just a thought to do this.
