If you have been seeing this man for more than 2 weeks and you have any doubts at all - run girl run. Why are you suspicious? Does he ask you to meet him somewhere or take you home early every time? Has he given you his home phone number and address? Have you been to his house? Does he always take you out of town? And this is the big one - does he give his time freely or does he just want to "get down to business?
Try and answer these questions to yourself. If you are honest with your answers you will pretty much know. After all this - ask him. No skirting around don't try to think of a "good" way to ask him so he won't think you are "clingy". and girl don't take any glib "oh baby you know you're the only woman in my life. Now let's not bring this up anymore. If he is single he will just say no. He may ask what brought it on and then just tell him the truth -- I have been fooled before and I don't want to let that happen again.

This is the kind of question people ask that have been used before. A relationship is as good as the foundation it's built on. What makes you sceptical? Maybe you need to look at yourself first, and find out who you are. You can always go to the Hall of Records in your county and check locally. Other than that, you need an investigator. Is it worth the cost?
My daugther married a man and didn't check thoroughly and when she did, found out he was a bigamist. It's sad that people have no moral conscience these days. Protect yourself. Good Luck

But I have bought backgroud checks on boyfriends in the past. and let me say it was totally worth it. for like $20 you can buy online a backgroud check on anyone. they tell you about previous addresses, who their relatives are, any tickets or court appearance in the past, MARRIAGE licenses, bankruptcies, etc...
Go for it, it could confirm what he's already told you, or it clue you in that you might be wasting your time.

Well, if he is denying being married, then you need to dump his bum and pronto.
If he never invites you over, is skittish with his schedule, is never available to talk on the phone or always has 'something to do' and he can't meet you... MARRIED. And cheating.
