I bring a two printers and a person to operate the printer. I will print all the pictures I take on the wedding day and by midnight I can give all the guest and the wedding couple the pictures. (These will be proof pictures) The final wedding album will be delivered two weeks later. Just a thought to do this.

I sometimes print pictures for the guest at the back drop so they have pictures to take home.

The Printers do not make much noise. Besides...there is music at the receptions. Music is loud.

Let them wait. I'm fed up with people who need instant gratification for everything. Besides, aren't most people who go to weddings totally bombed by the time it's over? God only knows what they'll do with the pictures you give them.

My first thought was, 'oh that would be great' but then I remembered why I don't do paper proofing. Once you put the paper proofs in their hands your up sales are just shot down. No one needs to buy anything and if the album is already in your package that is the end of your sales. Don't you want the families and friends and couples to purchase more pictures from you? I just had a woman in today whose wedding I shot nearly two years ago. She brought her baby in and on top of that purchased another $400 of wedding pictures. Never would have happened if they had the paper proofs.

Try a blog with a few composites of the event and post it the night after the wedding. Pass out cards at the reception for all the guests. They'll all be hitting your blog just to see the pics and what you wrote about the wedding and couple. Then predesign their album and post it to the blog the next week before giving them their proofs ON CD and the internet. That way you build excitement, usually up-sale the album since you will design one larger than they contracted for and they they almost always want the album they see first.

Okay, enough. I tend to get on a subject and go on and on. Sorry.

B.

I guess it would be okay, but isnt this a very expensive way to print the photos? And isnt the quality a little compromised if you are doing it with a portable computer printer?
Great Idea for those guests who would like to take home a photo. Me, I am quite happy just with my own shots taken with my digital camera.

This is awesome!!!

I have had to wait so long to get some pictures back from family and friends, that I think your idea is a WINNER!
I would just ask the bride and groom if this is OK with them-some people might not think your idea is great, but I do.

Two thumbs up!

I think for the guests, that's fine. However the bride and groom aren't going to want printouts of their pictures. The will want to see them in their final quality and not have a bunch of loose sheets to take with them on their wedding night.
And what if the wedding doesn't last until midnight? What if most of the guests leave around 10:30 or before?

as an MOB who recently spent 5K on a photographer....i think this is a bad idea....no one should see the photos before the bride & groom approve and they clearly do not have time to do that on the day of the wedding. If your prices include several hours spent at the reception then use the time to take candids and assorted party shots for a seperate album.

Sure.

My photographer is actually going to be bringing up photos during the reception that she would take with the ceremony and the formal ones after.

i was at a wedding that did that and thought it was awesome. No wait for the pic you forgot you took a few weeks later. I think its a fab idea.

That's going overboard on the quick turnaround! I wouldn't want your printer taking up space and making noise at my reception.

If you could just show them their proofs after they return from the honeymoon that would be great.

If you are going to do this - and I think its a good idea - why not also have a screen that you can plug your digital into so people can can see them and choose..
