I am 16 and I have a boyfriend that is 24. Why do poeple say things like he's pedophile, or he has other girls or he wants to get in my pants? If you knew that he came to my life to make me happy. The truth is I have lupus and I'm a little worried that I might not live for so long so I want to get married young (18 years old) and go to college. But when I asked for opinions people think my boyfriend is a bad person. He's really there for me, taking care of me, giving me strength, he loves me, he's the best! And my parents accept our relationship cause they know that he is a good man.

If it is all good, why do you care what others say? Who knows him better, you or others? People always have a say so let them talk what they want while you enjoy your life with the man who you feel loved and happy.

First, it's hard to see when you are 16, but when you are 24 you will realize what a HUGE age difference it is. The two of you are at totally different points in your life & although it is totally normal for a teenager to strive for adulthood & seek older partners, it is *not* normal for an adult to establish an intimate relationship w/someone who is still very young.
I'm not saying that an adult can't care for a younger person ~but part of being adult is being responsible for yourself & others. Although a person still has a lot of growing to do at 24, they should know enough to not date teens.

Second, why do you care what others think? I suspect that deep down you know that no matter how much he may care about you, the age difference does matter.

However, you say you have your parents blessings ~ so why care so much what people on this forum say? Enjoy yourself & your life ~ by all means go to college.

My only advice to you is to avoid marriage until you have finished college ~ if this man loves you he will wait.

If both sets of parents are happy with the relationship, and you and your b/f are happy with the relationship, who gives a rats butt what other people think?

I'm glad to hear your parents accept the relationship. Good luck and best wishes!

You shouldn't care for what anyone else thinks. If your parents agree, and you love him, what's the problem?

Because it's just not normal for a grown man to want to be with a child.
