I need help to figure out how My fiancee will be able to come to us to live after we get married.
My fiancee is from Morocco. He does not live there right now. He lives in Italy (where we met). We decided we want to get married in morocco with his family. I think I know all the paper work I need and maybe his.. Still not to sure. If you know please let me know. I would love to know how to find a islamic church or priest abdoul (whatever it is called. not to sure on that yet) to marry us. I want to try to set this up ahead of time. We are going to marry in casablanca. After we are married. How do I get my new husband back to the states with me? Is there anyway he can come right away? If anyone know the answers to any of these questions please inform me. Thanks for all the help you give me.. May God be with us all.

If it was me, I would check with a lawyer who specializes in immigration. I've seen a couple of situations in my city where a married couple were separated or had to move out of the US because of immigration issues. I wouldn't chance it and its always best to get a lawyer in this kind of situation. Good luck to you.

I doubt very much that both of you will be able to return to USA right away. I have a friend in China right now who married a Chinese woman in China in December 2006. He had to return to USA by himself to begin the paperwork process of getting a visa for her to enter USA. He got a lawyer, on advice from a friend, to file the papers for him so that they would be filed correctly. After that it is a matter of waiting....and waiting.....and waiting. He has still had no further word on his wife's visa status other than "pending". He was given a file number when his paperwork was received by USA Department of Immigration, and he can go online and check the status of the paperwork with this number. It has not changed in six months. He has no idea how long he will have to stay in China.....of course, he is free to return to USA, and may even be forced to when his visitor status to China expires, but his wife must remain in China. She cannot even come to the USA on a visitor's permit since she has applied to USA for permanent status. Getting permission from China for her to leave was relatively easy, it's getting into USA that is becoming a nightmare, especially since 9/11. Also lots of people have "purchased marriages" for purposes of gaining entry into USA and getting a green card. USA is cracking down on this practice, thankfully, and the long waiting process is probably part of the deterrent.

Good luck to you, but I would certainly think very seriously about the step you are taking unless you want to accept the possibility of a very long stay in Morocco.....or having a "long distance" marriage.

go to www.visajourney.com It's a great forum for people in the same situation. It will be a k3 visa he needs. I'm waiting on a k1 just now which is fiance(e) visa. It is possible, the bad news is it can take 6-7months at present.

Visit the FAQs on the official US Inmigration Service.

www.uscis.gov

Expect lots of paperwork, lots of cash in fees to be paid, a complete medical examination, interviews for both and a wait of about 1 year and a half, assuming that all the paperwork has been filed correctly.

Good luck (you are gonna need it)

First he needs a temporary visa which he should be granted since you are getting married (he can do this now). Then he needs to apply for his permanent green card with immigration. It's a lengthy process...but if you love each other, it'll be worth it.
