She had a swatch of the color that my bridesmaids were wearing and she new my mom was wearing a color that matched them too. She does not get along with my husband or me very well. Do you think this was a sign of disrespect?

I asked my guest book attendant ( a 16 yr old student of mine who I thought was responsible) about 6 weeks before the wedding to hand out programs at the wedding and do the guest book at the reception. I bought her a corsage, listed her in the program, and bought her a gift. At the reception, her parents came in late and told my husband she had to babysit instead. I am very frustrated with her (many people did not sign book) and don't know what to say. Any suggestions?

The day I asked him for one month of not seeing eachother to clear our heads, he shows up with an engagement ring. I asked him not to buy me one for I could get it at cost and I didn't even want a diamond ring. Since I've been in the jewelry business for 22 years and I just had to look at it with a lens...it's what I do! It was a fake, scratches in the gold, fithy like it had been worn for a long time, also lazar cut so it wasn't his mothers ring and this man claims to be a millionair plus. He said " you're not a wholesale woman", and lead me to believe he had bought the ring from a jewelry store in another town. So if he has money and wants to marry me...why did he do this? Why the deception? I would have been happy with a simple twenty dollar ring and why can't he respect my wishes? And on top of all of this he's a psychologist.

I am writing this question because I have discovered that my fiancee of 18 months has a number of recent and very well maintained web personals accounts and profiles, which my fiancee denies adamately. I used a covert program to track all activity on the computer I loaned to my fiancee. As adamant as the denials are, I know better, as I have forgotten more about the internet than most "IT pros" know. I am embarrased that I did not trust and in fact broke the bond of trust between us, but I am massively hurt by what I have most unfortunately discovered. I broke up with my fiancee yesterday and am in a hotel room with no where to go and I am trying with all of my heart to understand this and make the right decisions. Your opinions, as always, are valued and welcome. Thanks -

If, when the priest says "Speak now or forever hold your peace" or whatever it is that he says. What happens if someone stands up and objects to the marriage?

My darling sister who I love very much is getting married next spring. She lives out of state and is planning to have a small family wedding in my state. I should also mention this is her first wedding and she is 40.

Now, she has been spending hours on the net and on the phone to me making plans. She asks my opinion then disagrees. She calls to talk about possibilities endlessly, even while I'm at work. She wants to rent this place, then that place...She has asked me to check out some places, but gets grouchy when I offer an opinion, then she asks me for another one.

Now, I do love her...but as excited as she is (and she has a great fiance) would I be too uncharitable to tell her to slow down ...she'll be foaming at the mouth by wedding day- at this rate.

Am I being unkind?

I am a mature Black woman who will be marrying my much younger fiance' for Christmas. I have been checking David's Bridal and other sources for suggestions. I have not been successful. This is my third and his second. This is it for both of us. I am not concerned about huge bridal parties, elaborate clothing, etc. We just want somethin simple and tasteful. I would prefer wearing a nice cream colored tailored suit with veil and for him, a matching cream colored suit. ( I am leaning toward wine, cream (winter white) and gold.) with sprinkles of green (don't want to be too Christmasy) My daughter will be my bridesmaid, his son will be his groomsman. I have not decided on the "time". With it being Christmas Day - I was thinking, either late morning, or early afternoon. I could really use some unique ideas. I live in a lovely complex with a wonderful clubhouse that features a fireplace, kitchen (oven, sink, etc,) I would probably have someone play piano music or CD's. I'd also like .

Or is proposing a generally accepted method of asking/finding out? Shouldn't a boy/girl know that they're going to marry each other already - before that particular 'proposal' moment?

I'm getting married about 65 miles from where I'm spending my wedding night...I want to wear the dress the whole day, but no one is available to pick up the dress to store it while my future husband and I are on our honeymoon. We're going to the airport in the morning to leave for a crosscountry flight. Is there a good way to store my dress while I'm on my honeymoon? What are my options?

My fiance is Samoan and American Indian I am Mexican and American Indian, is it too much to try incorporate aspects from all four of the cultures that make us who we are? We really want a multicultural wedding and are playing with ideas of how to do so, for example, she was going to ask her aunts to make all the groomsmen and bridesmaids attire in a nice island print. We were also planning on having hoop dancers perform at our wedding and possibly have a round dance, sung by my brother, for our guests. I wanted a Mariachi to play for a while when the reception is just getting started. Is this too much stuff to try and throw into a wedding? What do you think? Is it better to just have subtle accents of our cultures through the cake design or favors instead of full on entertainment? I'm conflicted and would just like some suggestions or interesting ideas. Thanks a bunch.

I am going for a caviar look on a tuna fish budget. We are doing a unique, expensive reception, so I need a lavish dress with a clearance price tag, and i think i've found it. I was just curious on how upscale this looks to others. Thanks!

I am getting married in October and I am stuck with what the dress code will be. It is an evening contemporary wedding and we would like people to dress as if they are arriving at the red carpet. How can I encapsulate that in one word?
