You don't say how much experience you have. Just judging by this posted question, no. I would not hire you. Maybe you'll be in a hurry at my wedding and make mistakes, too.

Just taking photography classes in school does not guarantee good photographic skills, or people skills that you will need to specialize in shooting weddings. Perhaps you do have these skills. You will need a portfolio to go along with them. You probably will have to shoot a few for free, in exchange for portfolio material.

By far the best way to break into shooting weddings is to assist an established pro for a season or two. You will learn a lot abut how the day goes as well as what shots to make, and not at the expense of risking the couple's images of their "special day."

The wedding industry is in a state of upheaval, as digital SLRs become a tool for the masses, many people think "Ahhhh, easy money. All I have to do is take a thousand pictures, surely a few will be good." The established photographers are having to change some things about the way they work. It used to be almost unheard of for the photographer to sell or give the negatives to the couple, at least for several years. Now couples expect hundreds of images in high resolution, and they print and design their own albums. Times are changing, and it is actually harder now to start a successful wedding photography business.

So not only will you need great photographic skill, people saavy, and some start-up capital for quite a bit of gear, computers, programs, etc etc, you will need business skill and knowledge and some luck, as well.

I did the same thing out of college. I have a heavy Art background and took some photog classes. I started out small....mostly graduation and scenery pics, some engagement photos and built up a portfolio. I started out doing family and friends weddings. A friend of mine is a local florist, so when she came across a bride on a budget, she would recommend me. I did it for about 3 years as a hobby.....then I got nervous. I learned that most wedding photogs have insurance to cover 'wedding disasters'. This was before digital photos....what if I messed up the film??? I could be liable to recreate the whole wedding for another photo shoot....I would have to rent tuxes, buy flowers, fly in out of town wedding party members and family, bake a cake, rent the church....well you get the picture. Since I was not willing to make it my occupation....I let that hobby go. And may I suggest also..... use the spell check....photos are all about details...so is spelling.

No...even your post is unprofessional. Try using spell check. Also, no one is going to hire you if you haven't a) taken photography classes, or b) gone to school for photography. Charging $800 just for a hobby? Don't think so. This is an important day for a couple and they won't want to risk ending up with bad pictures. Try taking some classes and working on a portfolio before you move on to something as big as a wedding.

Not for 800 I wouldn't and definatly not without a book of some sort showing what you can do. You might consider doing a wedding or two for free because not many people are going to hire a wedding photographer with nothing to show them that they know what they're doing.

WOW

After seeing this question, no way in the world would I hire you.

"Typing it too fast" is no excuse IMO. If you want to talk about opening a business, you need to actually sound like you've gone to school and passed.

You should have grammar and spell checked it. I would wonder how professional you would be on any correspondence with me and how you would treat our requests.

So nope, I would not hire you.

$800 is a very reasonable price...But I have to comment that you should not advertise yourself in the same manner that you have posted this question. If English wasn't your best class in school, perhaps you should hire a marketing firm to put together your materials.

Based on your spelling and lack of a clear idea of your services, I would not hire you. Sorry.
You should more clearly define what you do, and give examples of your work. Good luck.
