Cravat or tie?

My wife wants me to wear a cravat but I think they look really bad. Whats everyones opinion? Whats the norm?

Hmmmm I say do whatever your wife wants cos if you dont and she's not happy on the day, you will pay for it forever!!! You have to ask yourself, do you really care that much? And is it worth it?

It depends largely on what sort of suit you're wearing. For instance, cravats are standard with a morning suit, but would never be worn with tails.

For the record, my husband wore a morning suit and cravat and he looked very handsome. But the reason he wore the cravat was because it was the proper look with the suit he wore.

When it doubt, consult with your formalwear rental. They know what sort of tie is supposed to go with what sort of suit, and they can steer you in the right direction.

Depends on the guy's shape. I would say ties are more the norm because they look pretty good on everybody. Cravats can look really good or they can make you look like a turtle coming out of his shell.

I don't know what my HTB is wearing...he told me if he can't know what my dress looks like it's only fair I don't know what his clothing looks like...I couldn't argue the logic.

I think a cravat is super sexy...Guys wear ties all the time. Pick something different for your wedding day!
