If, when the priest says "Speak now or forever hold your peace" or whatever it is that he says. What happens if someone stands up and objects to the marriage?

Most likely the priest will ask the groom, bride, and the nay sayer to join him in his "chambers" and discuss the reason for the objection, if the priest finds no reason for the objection, the wedding will continue, if there is a just reason for the objection, the priest will not continue with the nuptials, although the couple can go an alternate route and go the justice of the peace and not have to worry about such a thing.

I have never been to a wedding where that is asked. It used to be asked long ago to stop someone from getting married when they were either not of age or already married but that was before you have to have a marriage license.

The bride cries, usually though the priest or pastor doesnt ask that anymore, just in the movies

You either listen to what they have to say or you tell them to LEAVE or SHUT UP.
I would freak out if that happened to me and would tell that person to shut up and have them forcefully escorted out of the place and not invited to the reception. Anyone who waits until the ceremony to object is a horrible, stupid person that doesnt deserve anyone listening to what they have to say.

The presiding person will talk to the person who objected and will decide whether or not to go on...Most of the time, they just continue the ceremony....
