I already have 5 bridesmaids and he has 5 groomsmen. His mother wants all the cousins in the family (ages 2-11) in the wedding. I have attended plenty of family gatherings and know the kids pretty well, but I don't want children in the wedding. I don't have any family of mine close enough to ask. and have not asked friends with kids (who i am close to) so as not to upset MIL. She wants 2 jr. bridesmaids 2 flower girls 2 jr groomsmen and 1 ringbearer and i don't want any of this. its my wedding am i wrong to stand up for what i want?

the groom is adamant about them being in the wedding because he doesn't want to fight with his mom over it. i am adamant about not having 7 kids that aren't that close to me in my wedding. i have agreed to one flower girl and one ring bearer, some young ushers and greeters to try and compromise. this apparently isn't enough for MIL.

any thoughts?

and please don't be rude, i agreed to a football wedding for him-so i'm not entirely bridezilla

There are too many cheesy love songs, I am just curious if I am all alone in the fact that wedding dance songs tend to suck. I want to give my brother some other options for his dance.

We live in an apartment building, (never have before) and the upstairs neighbour plays loud music. It's hard to complain to management because she'll play 2-3 songs really loud and then turn it down and then it will start again when, I guess a song comes on she enjoys. A couple of weeks ago my husband and I hooked up our stereo and blasted ACDC until unfortunately the cops came. (We shook her world old school) Do I need to move into the wilderness to get peace and quiet? I've heard more top 40 than I have ever cared to.

I have a car that i owe money on of which the APR is 27% and i owe $7,800 (i know my credit was bad when i got it but it's way better now). I spoke to someone from the credit company & they told me i could pay off in Sept with $6,600. My future husband owes $5,000 on his car & i'm planning on paying off either one of the cars. Note: my car payment is $260/month & his is $420/month but his APR is 5%. Which car would be smarter to pay off?? We're getting married in Sept but because we want to pay off debt we can't afford to spend alot on the ceremony. The most we can spend is $2,500 aside from the help that both our family's are willing to help us with. What would be the best way to plan the ceremony?? what are your suggestions?? Our budget is limited but my family is willing to pay for the food & decorations & his family are willing to pay for entertainment so at least we want to have pictures taken & a video at least. Wdding will be for party of 50. HELP!!

Hey everyone im getting married in December its going to be the cutiest little wedding ever, but im having issues with my fiance's mother. I want for her to be involved in our plans because we want her blessings and all, but she wants no part of it. Basically she doesnt like me. I want her to warm up to the idea that we are getting married and thats final, but i have no way on how to go about this situation. Ive known her for about 6 years now, and ther is no getting through to her. Please, does anyone have any suggestions on how to get her blessings, or atleast to have her show up in the wedding for her sons sake. There hasnt been much problems in the relationsip with me and my fiance. Its nothing i believe i did wrong, She just doesnt like the way i look and my race, and she hasnt told me openly about it but i have heard it from other people and my future husband to be.

My biological father was and is not the best father. I'm not sure he deserves the right to give me away. I have a step-father who is okay most of the time but we're not very close. He married my mom after I was grown and out of the house. The other options I am considering are having my mom do the honors, or my 15 year old brother, both of whom I adore. Or... no one. Walking down the aisle independently. What do you think? thanks

First problem: the hotel I booked has booked 4 other weddings that night so we (ie. family, friends) are unable to hang out at the bar there and there really isn't that many good places to go after. Now I have NO clue what to do after.
Second: my fat ***** mother in law got my fiance to move the time of our wedding to 4:30 and the reception is at 6 leaving us zero time for pictures, and the ***** is still complaining. Again, I'm at a loss. Suggestions are badly needed. I'm so stressed out I'm about to cry and vomit at the same time here. Thanks for your input, you have no idea how much it is appreciated.

I am going to be married to a man that I love with all of my heart...but he is muslim. I come from a very strong christain family. My wedding is drawing near and I have put off sending my invitations as much as I can but I don't know if I should invite my family. His family is muslim and both are very strong in their beliefs. If I invite his family mine will be angry at me forever and if I invite his instead they could disown him forever. I am scared that if I invite both of them their will be a fued between whose religion is right. Any Suggestions......

So on your invites you write the date out but how do you write the year should it be

Two thousand AND seven or two thousand seven?

I thought it was the "and" version, but then the other day someone corrected another poster on this same issue and now I dont know what to write.

Whats the concensus here?

My parents have been separated for almost three years now. Both of them have moved on and have significant others now, and my parents still get along great. I will be getting married in just over a year. I was a little hesitant to invite their significant others to the wedding. My parents together have reassured me that at the wedding, they will be sitting together at the wedding (there has been problems with this in my family before, which is why I was hesitant to agree).
My mom is in a long distance relationship, however, and he is not the most well-off man. I am afraid that either they will break up, or something will happen that he will not be able to come. My mom is very uncomfortable around my dad's girl. If something were to happen and moms date couldn't come, would it be out of the question to ask my dads girl not to come in order to not upset my mom and to keep the peace? If my mom is upset, I will be too.
I would ask mom's bf to not come if somehow dads girl can't come too.

My 23 yr old brother is marrying a girl who he has dated for 7 years. She has never liked me, and is my same age and we have went to school together our whole life. I am 22, and then I have a younger brother who is 20. I am very close to my mom, however, now that this new girl is going to become part of the family, my mom does everything with her and lives her life of the dream of owning every coach and dooney purse, like the future sister in law does. I am getting married in Sept07, and asked her to be a bridesmaid, because she will be family and that is the thing to do. Her wedding is in June08, and she did not ask me to be in the wedding. I am the only sister to my brothers. She is an only child. Is it wrong she did not ask me? Even worse, her and my brother asked my exbf to be a groomsmen in their wedding, but did not ask my future husband to be one---and he will be the new brother in law to my brothers. I think this is all sick! Am I just the crazy one for feeling that way?

My fiance and I have been together for 4 years and engaged for 2 years and I am also 37 weeks pregnant with his child. We were set to get married this past weekend but when I got to the courthouse to get a copy of my divorce papers( I had to have these to get a marriage licence) the courthouse was closing early for a Geranium Festival. WTF!!! That never happens and no one told me it was happeneing. I know I probably should hav gotten the papers earlier and not the weekend of the wedding. So we didn't get to get married, there was no way around it without the marriage licence.

My boyfriend and I told my mom my intention to get married I church, but I’m changing my mind, and I want a civil wedding instead because we wanted to save money. But my mom wouldn’t approve of it. She wants me to have a church wedding but she might be critical of how it will turn out because she’s fond of criticizing other people

If I have already purchased a present for a friend's wedding via the wedding registry, should I also get the flowers?

I read somewhere that it's not appropriate to give flowers (especially at the church) since it may be not convenient for the bride and the groom to transport the flowers from the church.

But somehow it feels weird to come to a wedding with empty hands, even if the present was already sent to the newlyweds....
