From a female perspective-I've always thought of having a small nice wedding on a beach with only immediate family...until I got engaged. Between both of our parents, they were determined that it was not going to be so. I really wish it were going to be small, but I as of now (and we're not getting married until November) our guest list (people who have said they are definitely going to be there even though invitations haven't been sent yet) is 50-75 guests. To me...that's too many already...but oh, well...at least I'm not getting stuck with the bill. Those females that say that ALL women want large weddings are lying! I did NOT want a big wedding AT ALL!!

You're a guy, right? To each his own, but most women dream of the fancy wedding from the time they're very little girls. The reality is, we all grow up and nowadays, we can't afford it. Our 'daddy's' can't afford it or are passed away by the time we get married... let us have what we can. Don't make us elope! Small and intimate we only say we want if we think that's what you really want, but in our heart we want the BIG party that's all about us!!!!!!!!! Even a party that looks small and intimate can cost a real pretty penny, so don't think that will be any cheaper! Please don't be cheap if you can afford a decent wedding. Your future wife will love you forevermore for letting her have her special day... I'm talking within reason of course!

I had a big wedding, and have never once regretted it. I have a big family there was no way to make it small, unless we eloped. I never even considered eloping. Weddings are about families, marriages are about the couple. Obviously the marriage is more important, but that doesn't mean that the wedding isn't important at all.

I used to want a big wedding but my best friend is getting married in August and it's so much! she's having a big wedding and now I am sold on having a small wedding with a small reception.
I'd rather take the money and spend it on a down payment for a house or take some and go on a great honeymoon.
For all the money for less than 24 hours big weddings aren't worth it.

No eloping, but a small intimate wedding will do for me. As long as I'm getting married to the one I love, I don't care if it's big or small, just as long as it happens.

I never wanted a big wedding. I don't like big parties with lots of people, and besides I always believed that the wedding was all about myself and my husband, not about making other people happy. So we eloped, and it was one of the best decisions I've ever made. It was wonderful!

I'd much rather have a small ceremony with a few close friends and family. I rather use the money for vacations than pay for something that will last for a day. Paying for Hotel and lavish stuff is just a waste but that is just my opinion.

I think most little girls dream of big elegant weddings( thanks to Cinderella). But as one grows and learns more about life, reality is that you have to pay for something like that and all the work that has to be put in.Well for those who have the money to throw out the window and still be able to support whats coming ahead, great. But for those who have a simple life and just make to enough to live on,it seems that one has to be happy with just being able to have a little something.I did always dream to have something big but as life took me around another road I'll just have settle for something nice and simple. Can't complain, the good part is that you are marring the person you love.
