I am trying to find something to make my reception a little more "decorative" and I like the idea of the gossamer because the ceiling is hideous and I like paper lanterns but I think they would draw too much attention to the ugly ceiling. Would it look too tacky if I had both? What else could I use for ceiling decoration?

I would love to have a destination wedding; however, I have a huge family. I have lots of aunts, uncles and cousins. I am very close to them and I must have them at my wedding; both ceremony and reception. They don't have a lot of extra money and taking a vacation can be done for them, but could also be a stress. Is it rude to have a destination wedding knowing that my closet friends and family maybe put in a tight spot for money. My boyfriend and I can't really afford to foot the bill for everyone.

Also, I do not want to have a second reception when I return home. That will just be extra money, so that's out of the question.

So, is it rude to have this type of wedding?

My BIL is having a destination wedding and in addition to that they are having a party prior to the wedding to celebrate. Since our daughter's 2nd birthday is in July we asked that they did it any other weekend but the weekend of her birthday and they agreed. I just got a phone call that they have decided to have it that weekend anyway and whats worse on her birthday. Their explanation for this, they want to see her on her birthday. Unfortunately I have already begun planning her party and quite frankly, don't want to change our plans, I feel like this is outright rude shows a total disregard for peoples plans and feelings...am I being crazy or am I justified for not wanting to go to this party in addition to their wedding at the beginning of August?

Our list of invitees is over 250 people. We are trying to keep the budget low. My Fiance says we have to feed them all. I read about having a later wedding like at 5pm and then giving those people time to eat on their own. Then having Dessert and drinks at the reception. That way we don't have to feed so many people. Have any Ideas?

my boyf proposed to me and i'm over the moon, the only problem is over bridesmaids etc. my sisters have daughters and want them to be bridesmaids-i don't want 6 little kids following me up the ailse. all i want is my best friend as a bridesmaid as i've got 3 sisters and if i choose one of them it'll cause family problems as my dad ALWAYS sides with my older sister-everyone has noticed. i've tried telling them what i want but they aren't listening. how can i get them to see things my way. it's our day and we should have it our way. should we run away and get married on our own?

In the process of planning my wedding everyone seems to be giving me advise. The recent thing I have heard is that it is considered bad luck for the bride to see her own reflection once she is in her wedding dress. I want to know how true this is?

What would you think of a wedding reception with an I-Pod as the DJ?

During my wedding, I have chosen for my soon-to-be step daughter and 11 year old (blind) neice to be co-flower girls. Both my fiancee and sister agreed that they could both do the job. I know 11 is old for a flower girl, and she should be a junior bridemaid- I get that, but being blind, she needs guidance down the isle and my fiancee's daughter will serve that function as well. But my sister insists that the girl should NOT be dressed the same, as my neice is 6 years older. I assured my sister that I would not make her daughter look silly, but she is insistant that they do not wear the same dress. Shouldn't this be my decision?

I live in Vegas and I was wondering if any one had a nice wedding and reception for a resonable price. I have about 100-150 adults and about 20 children under 10. Every where I have been looking is about $30-100 per person. Does anyone have any suggestions or experience?
