I would say early October. The weather is usually still nice, and people haven't yet gotten into the holiday rush of Thanksgiving and Christmas shopping yet. Allow yourself enough time that you can write out all your Thank You notes and not feel rushed and stressed. November and December will likely be wildly busy for you and you don't want to get stuck writing shower thank you's so soon before your wedding, then you will have to be writing thank you's for your wedding as well. Plus, with being in college as well, October isn't usually frantic with studying for finals yet. There's nothing wrong with having your shower 2-3 months before the wedding.

What about during the Thanksgiving break? After that, you'll both be too stressed out with finals and the last preparations for the wedding.

You could also have it before classes start in the fall. That way you're not worried about other things or feeling pressured that you should be writing a paper or studying instead of at your bridal shower.

Most said Thanksgiving but I dont know--many families like to be together during thanksgiving so unless you did it the Saturday after Thanksgiving, it would be difficult for friends to be there.

I'd look over the class schedule before making any final decisions--as you dont want to do it right before a big test or something. Plus Thanksgiving really only gives you about 2 weeks to get out your thankyou notes--and thats during your finals! You'll be too stressed then!

Do you have a fall break? I always had a fall break around mid-October. That sounds perfect to me. From Novemeber to December everyone is so busy with Christmas preperations and finals. Mid-October gives you time to get out the thank you notes before you are focused on school, finals, and the last minute wedding plans.

Anywhere 2-3 months in advance (mid-Sept to mid-Oct) would be easier for everyone to attend. The time frame from Thanksgiving to Christmas is hectic enough for everyone as is.

In your case I would try to have my shower in October. It's before Thanksgiving and before everyone starts thinking and becoming overwhelmed by the Christmas season. Good Luck!

How about during Thanksgiving break? Buy the stuff ahead of time (during the summer) and send out invitations in the beginning of November.

I would say the end of October or early November. You can try to beat the bad weather and the stress of the upcoming holidays. Good luck and congrats!
