National Park or State Park
Rent a sail boat or yacht if it's a small ceremony
In front of a Mountain
In the ballroom of a hotel
At your home or the home of a family member ...especially if they have a nice big back yard or beautiful pool
On a golf course or a Country Club
On the steps of the State Capital
A historic site in your state
A Botanical Garden or nursery
Out in the county in front of a rustic barn, old mill or an old rustic bridge

Hope these ideas get you started...just be creative and think about what interests you and your fiance...and the size and style of wedding you want to have.

In Orgegon there is a national park that has some of America's oldest and most beautiful trees. When I was there, we saw a wedding taking place inside the "chapel tree," which was a gigantic redwood that had half-burnt down, so as to make a sort of cathedral. By gigantic I mean really-- this thing had to be twenty feet across.
All took place at the heart of a lovely forest, and the shape of the tree made for wonderful acoustics for the aisle-walking music.

I'm thinking of having mine in an open field overlooking the water. The scenery is gorgeous! You could do it outside, but have a backup plan in case it rains. You could also do it at a nice hotel, using their banquet room for your reception or ceremony (or if its a small wedding they can do both and just divide the room, which is usually huge anyway). I'm sure whatever you pick will be gorgeous!
