You should order about the same amount as the number of guests expected (not including small children) but round up a few so you have some to save for yourself and mothers.

You will probably want to order extras - some will get destroyed before and during the ceremony, you will want some to send to friends or family who could not attend, and you'll want to save some in a scrapbook. And other people will want to take extra copies as well - especially parents and grandparents. The printer may keep a couple for his own files, as will others associated with the ceremony.

If you have extras left over, it's not the end of the world. If you run out when people still want them - it can be embarrassing.
(And no matter how carefully you plan, there will be SOMEONE who shows up at the wedding that you did not expect.)

Can I ask you a serious question cause I often wonder if brides think about this.

Why are you having a program for your ceremony? It's a ceremony let your guests wait with anticipation with what's going to happen. It's a ridiculous tradition that people should really think about.

You're outlining something that's so obvious

You can either order 1 for each person (have a few extra) or 1 for each couple. It's your choice. I would do 1 per person though. Remember to have some extra, you're going to want to put one in a scrapbook, as will your mom and your mother in law.

No, usually 10% more, for the unexpected. Someone who you forget to send an invitation to. You meet a new friend and become best friends before the wedding (same sex as you) and you would like them to come as well. Other people, who KNOW that can't make it, you send them a card, and maybe they will send a small gift.

Order about ten extra, that way you have a few for unexpected guests and in case you or your parents want to keep a couple as a souvineer.

Not necessarily. Look at your list. If you have Mr. and Mrs John Doe, that's only one invite. Total it all up, and order up to the next size box. There's always people you'll think of later and have to send out an emergency invite.

No, order at least 25-50 extra (depending on how many invites you have). You never know how many ppl wil show up just because of word-of-mouth invites.
