I am having a patriotic wedding on 07-07-07 & I have come up w/ ideas that I am definitely using. My question is, does anyone have any other ideas or new thoughts? What I am doing so far is as follows: For my tables @ the reception, I bought red & blue tablecloths, & @ shindigz.com I bought clear table cloths with white stars all over them to put over top of the red & blue tablecloths. My men are in white tuxedos w/ Cobalt blue vests & my girls are in Cherry Red tea length dresses. Also I have a white aisle runner, & my flower girl is throwing red & blue rose petals. I am also having cheesecake w/ blueberries & raspberry & strawberries for my wedding cake. I took three big star shaped hat boxes & painted one red, one white, & one blue & put red/white/blue roses on it, & that is my card box. I got red/white/blue gumballs & patriotic tootsie rolls & red/white/blue jelly beans, sparklers, CDs, & personalized red & blue matchbooks with white lettering for my favors.

Never before have I heard that the bride pays for the dresses, hair, shoes and accessories for the bridesmaids. Are you all suggesting she also pays for tuxes? Just looking for your experience here...not opinions. What did you do?

Are there any stores around the blue springs, independence, or kansas city, Missouri area that let you rent bridesmaid dresses and wedding gowns? If not, are there any reasonably priced ones online?

1.Which designer are you using/used?
2.How much is/was your budget?
3.What colour was your dress - did it match you wedding day colour/theme?

I'm loving Maggie Sottero, Pronuptia and Alfred Angelo..

I'm undecided on the budget... save loads and get the dress of my dreams, get it from eBay, or get a cheap one from Moonson... decisions decisions....

What are/have you lot done?

I had a good freind for many years. The two of us always flirted but kept it clean until college. We both did some things we regret, and in the process she broke my heart. We stopped speaking about a year ago but still keep tabs through a mutual freind.
Fast foward to today- she starts sending texts messages that her "number has changed", "we haven't talked in a while" and "would you like to come to my wedding?". Now I've known about her engagement for nearly a year now- she met her fiance right after we split. So why come at me with a text message now? Is this genuiwne or is she up to no good again? I can't help but be a little suspicious that she calls out of the blue like this, conicidently after I inform our mutual freind that my current girlfreind and I have been on the rocks lately...

We are getting married April 14th. We are suppose to be moving into a house that me and my parents own. My mom wants to sell it my dad doesn't. I just want a place to live when I get married. (I already live with my fiance at his bro's house). The house was suppose to ours May 1. But the renter says he's gonna try to by it. This is stressing me and my fiance becuase we don't know what to do! If we go by house we will be stuck with 2 mtg payments, if we don't we may not have a place to live. We have argued and cried for the last 3 nights! If this keeps up we are going to tear each other apart! We gonna loose the best thing we have which is each other. My mom said she was going to tell the guy this morning that she needed a down payment on the house or he needed to get out. But I still don't know what to do.... HELP PLEASE! I CAN'T LOOSE MY LOVE FOR LIFE OVER THIS!!! PLEASE!

My wedding is in September and I have decided that the ceremony will be a semi-formal event, meaning absolutley no jeans, t-shirts or sneakers. How do I let all the guests know what we expect. There are roughly 300 guests and I can't call each one and tell them. They are more than welcome to change into more comfortable clothes at the reception.

I am thinking of doing a wedding favor with mini pails, soil and planted seeds that our guests can replant. Does anyone have a suggestion on what kind of flower seeds would be appropriate to put in a small pail then be replanted?

The first one is:

I plan to propose to my girlfriend and give her a token gift at the time and then travel to Denmark to a place where you can make your own ring. It starts off at gold dust, you melt it, mould it, put in diamonds, patterns... right through to polishing and engraving it. I think that it is a great idea to make your own ring but is this going against tradition? what is your opinion.

Second question, does a man also wear an engagement ring or does he only get a wedding ring?

Slightly confused so any help will be greatly appreciated.

Thank you everybody.

As I look at the books containing wedding gifts for men, I can't help but to be bored by the selection of flasks, keyrings, and cufflinks. Is there anything else out there for groomsmen?

I personally think that if that person is special enough to you to marry then they should not be finding out through the grape vine. I would question every move he made because what else could he be hiding?

we have been friends for a long time, and i know she loves me as a person and we are quite close. I love her cause of her quirks and her somewhat strange yet interesting habbits.... however today she acted differently....

I mentioned to her a few days earlier that i had feelings for her, Today - i asked her to meet me at the park - I was there - she was 15 minutes late, she came running and just ran and gave me this big hug and held on to me for a few seconds, then she took my hand and we started aimlessly walking and discussing strange and totaly random things....

I asked abt why she is so detached and why she has not gottten into a relation yet - she said - she's still healing and waiting for someone to get to that point where she knows that it may just be worth her time - she said she is waiting for something to hapen, and cant wait for love to happen again...

I was wondering what this means, as i did not uinderstand it.??
I want to be there? what do u think is happening?

Me and my boyfriend (that wants to move in together) wants to get engaged. He told me last night that he would ask me right then and there to get married, but he hasnt asked me because he doesnt have the money for a ring right now! :( What should i do? My parents doesnt want us moving in together until they have a type of surety that he is serious about me. And my parents are very old-fashioned,and think we should wait until engaged or married before we move in together. But what do I do now? I have sorted out the problem with the housemate, and we have decided to move in together, alone, in our own little place end of July. But I know he has debt, and that he will probably not be able to afford the ring before then. Please help!!!

Here's my current situation : I am 22 years old, and i am leaving on my first deployment overseas. I am a marine reservist and i volunteered for it, but that's another story. My question is Me and my girlfriend have been together for 9 months, and we have talked about getting engaged before i leave but she wants to be engaged and then married within 6 months, so that's understandable. But we agreed that a promise ring would be perfect for both of us because of obvious reason's and that it would be something for both of us to look forward to. Should i ask her parents for her hand or wait ? its not an engagement, and i plan on spending 300 bucks so nothing extravagant. Thanks for your input.
